Hello, I am 19 and just bought my 77 280z on Mach 22, 09. Lots of miles but strong clean engine with newer injectors, brakes, brake lines, clutch, and interior. Taking care of some minor rust issues. Will need some body work and new paint but a great driver. Am learning to drive stick. Dad is patient. Taylor

Hello guys & gals of the Z forums!! AS of right now, I'm counting down the hours till I will be checking out a '81 datsun 280zx for a pretty good price based on what I've read here on the forums. My name is Walter and I'm located here in Hawaii(Oahu). I've been a big fan of the datsun especially the 710 & 620 trucks for some strange but could never find one here but luckily came across one. According to the owner, he got tired restoring this S130 and said, "all the '81 280zx needs is someone to fix the gas tank and thats it." quote unquote. I dont think this is a big problem until i check it out. Also he had a '79 ZX that he used as parts car so Im assuming…

Just found this site today, here's an interesting car for you. This 77 has been in my possession since 1978. It has only been on the road once in the past 15 years and has only about 100 miles on it in the past 20 years. It has 90,000 on it and has been driven exclusively on long trips. Between the original owner and myself the car has seen almost all of the U.S. including Hawaii.

Hello. I just bought my Z without seeing it. My cousin actually bought it for me, he builds drag racing cars, and has a soft spot for old Japanese sports cars. I'm in New York, but will return to Thailand for good at the end of 2009. So I asked my cousin to get me one before it's gone. In Bangkok, there's a huge demand for classic cars. It's a 2+2. It came without an engine. Luckily my cousin has a L20A-Tomei modified lying around his shop in Bangkok. The engine is stroked to 2400CC, and I also asked him to add a turbo. The rear seats are gone, in place there's a roll cage. Can someone help me identify the model year for this car? The VIN is GS300017080. It p…

Hello Z owners! I'm a former 1971 240Z owner and a current 1971 Dodge Challenger owner, that's why my avatar for now is my Challenger. Hopefully that will change soon when I sell the Challenger and find myself a 70 or 71 240Z. The Challenger is a great car but I'm in over my head trying to restore it. Cheers! Steve

Never had a Z before.....I bought my first last week...A 78 280z. I am hooked. I have been a VW guy for about 10 years or more. I have a wife and a great little year old girl. I am a long time gearhead. This is my first, so its a big learning curve coming from V dubs. I am excited to see how this project advances and hope to find a wealth of knowledge and info here.

Hi All, I have a '77 280Z; mostly stock; Fg fenders; I bought it at 32k miles; now 70K.. It was fun with the stock motor but there were frame rails to deal with etc. and I've always loved the 215 / 3.5 L aluminum Buik / Rover V8s.. so; Starting the swap; have a 3.5 L Range Rover 8.. just took the original motor out (posted in Classifieds; complete and running; no butchery as the rover is complete with harness etc..) and tackling the rust. Any recommendations re floor pans and frame rails? On that; will be replacing the whole rail set and the floor pans at once. Was going to use the bad-dog rails; may still for the strength, but will have the new 'rad to firewall' r…

Just a garage update and an addition to the stable. 1929 Ford Model A Roadster. This roadster was purchased from the founder and CEO of Mako Marine out of Miami (he has sold the company several years ago to Tracker Boats and Bass Outdoor). The last time she was tagged was in 1988. She has been in a climate controlled garage next to a completely restored 1957 Ford Thunderbird (beautiful car and also for sale - contact me if you are interested). I have already lubed the piston rings and hand rotated the engine after a couple of days of soaking. I have replaced the interior fuel shut off under the gas tank (inside the car) and cleaned the sediment tank and carb. I inst…

Hey guys, new to the forum and the world of Z's but not new to the world of wrenching. Just bought a '72 240 that needs a little bit of attention body-wise and interior-wise. The PO decided to "lighten it up" for drifting or some b.s. by taking out the back interior pieces which I think is about the dumbest thing you could do to one of these classic cars, I saved this one from demise A little about myself; I live in Wichita, Kansas and grew up in Oklahoma on a farm, my old man is a mechanic so I grew up in the shop. I ran my own small engine/ATV/motorcycle/boat motor repair shop from junior high through college. Also worked in a machine shop that whole time as wel…
