Anybody else noticing a very very very long time to open the page when first getting on? Seems normal after it loads, like it's loading a whole ton of background stuff first. It must be loading something because the page doesn't time-out. It just takes forever to open. Coincidentally....

Howdy, I was wondering if it's possible to implement https on the site. I was able to get it going on my server through letsencrypt pretty easily. It appears that the login page is encrypted, but the rest of the site is not. Regards

The chat system seems to be functioning, but when you fill the chat window with messages, the bottom line is not visible. I usually enter a blank message, like a dot to move the messages up one line, and then I can see the last line. I wasn't always that way. I think it was fine until a system update about 5 or 6 weeks ago? About the same time the secret questions were installed. I thought it might be a Java problem, but I'm always up-to-date with the Java versions. What kinds of stuff you need to run the chat window- probably not the flash player?... I tried flushing the cache, saved files, etc. Nothing is making an improvement. I still go to the chap …

Hi all, just wanted to apologize about the extra downtime this morning. I ran an upgrade on the server and it well.... didn't go so well. I had to spend some time trying to get a "fix" fixed... That's the way it goes in server-land. Anyway, all is good now so I hope you enjoy the site!

Hi all, I just enabled a new feature that adds security questions to your accounts. The purpose of this is to secure your accounts against hackers. It's not likely that our system will be hacked, but, it will also give Admins the capability to validate your account in case you lose your password (or change email addresses and forget your login). If you have any issues, please let me know. Thanks. Mike

Hi all, I wanted to let you know that we were able to raise enough money over the holidays to help a child in need. We raised $100 to buy a bike for a student to get back and forth between home and school safely. The program is called the "Dream Bike Program" and organized by Child Fund International. I am proud to say that we were able to help someone in need. It's our small way of making the world a better place. If you're interested in looking at the program, or just want to look at other fundraiser opportunities, you can find more information on our donations page: https://www.classiczcars.com/clients/donations/ Thanks again! Mike

Hi all, just wanted to let you know that I made a change to the login system. We are now using HTTPS or secured transport for all logins. This should not require any change on your side. However, you may see a confirmation dialog or saved passwords may need to be saved again. Enjoy the added security! Mike

Mike posts often about the importance of ads and keeping members and supporting the site. So I think it's relevant to post about why the site could be losing the target audience. Porn. We've had several female members and some young people, father/son prjects of members who had Z car projects in the past. But they're all gone now, haven't seen a hint. I've been at other computers where czcc.com is blocked by parental control programs. So I have to wonder if it's not stuff like these images that are part of the problem. Personally, when I'm in "car mode", a pair of big boobs is almost irritating. If I want boobs I can go to Google and type "boobs" and I'll see plen…

Hi all, it looks like our typical Monday-morning slowdown is becoming more of a "thing" I am used to seeing. However, it's starting to affect one of our busiest days at the club. Monday's are our busiest traffic days, and I apologize if you are noticing the lag in site performance. Anyway, the reason for the slowdown is due to our Sunday (Monday morning) backup to an offsite location. As a result of the extremely slow performance today, I've decided to make a change to the schedule. From now on, the script will run on Friday (Saturday morning). We will have to let the backup finish today but next Monday the website lag shouldn't be a problem. Cheers! …

Hi guys, We now have a new feature on the site called the "Leaderboard"... You can find a link to the feature in our Community tab above. This feature will show who is in the lead with the most popular topics from all across our website. Here's a snapshot of what it looks like now: The leaderboard also has a lot of search capability, so, if you're interested in seeing who has the highest reputation (for a given time period), it can be customized to your liking. Here's a snapshot of the reporting capability. Just use the drop-down on the right: It also shows a users reputation while viewing their profile. Hope you like the new addit…

Hi all, I did some upgrades overnight and here are some of the features you can expect to see. I'm excited to see improvements to the reply editor and leaderboard. These should be the most obvious. Enjoy! Auto-saved content in the editor will now expire after 48 hours If you load an editor that has previous auto-saved content you will now be prompted to keep or remove it Escape key will now cancel quick-edit on titles There are now more "save and reload" options in various places to keep your place when editing content or settings When you see a "could not write file" error the file it was trying to write now shows in the error logs …
