Replacing the bushings 280z crossmember. Replacing with the poly bushing. Prepping the crossmember while I wait on the parts to arrive. Before I press the sleeves out I want to make sure the bushings aren’t sized to fit with the sleeves in tact. First time I’ve used poly everything else was OE. Thanks in advance for the help.

Does anyone know how the rear bumper brackets are mounted? I have two sets and both sets have one side taller that the other. There's also a slight tilt from front to back. The pic shows the taller side clearly, but the tilt is a bit harder to see. The tilt is from section just below the DATSUN letters touching the manual toward the front of the pic. I guess an answer could be stated something like - when mounted, the taller side outward (Or inward) and the bottom of the bracket tilted inward (Or outward).

What is the large tube sticking out just below the front carb? does it connect to the balance bar? If so, do they have to be connected with a hose? can they be plugged? can they be left open?

I think I have a mixed up fuel line system, but want to verify. I had someone install an electronic fuel pump and this is what they did. Below are the questions I have: 1. Does the input to the fuel filter connect to the shorter (more rearward) fuel line? 2. Does the output of the fuel filter connect to the bottom rail of the fuel rail? 3. If correct above, then what does the top fuel rail and longer (more forward) fuel line do? Here are a description of the pics I attached: The diagram shows the way it’s configured. The fuel filter is connected to the shorter (more rearward) fuel line along the frame, and then connects to the top rail of th…

I have an MSA 3-2 header with 2 inch tubes. Does anyone have a source for a T304 stainless steel 2-1 merge collector (2.0 inch inlet, 2.5 inch outlet) that will mate with the MSA header. My understanding is that the MSA header mates with the original Datsun merge collector, but I can’t confirm this because I do not know if my current merge collector is original equipment. I realize I can have a muffler shop fabricate a collector but was hoping for a less expensive solution. I found some merge collectors online, vibrant for example but the center to center measurement of the inlet tubes is not the same as the MSA header. The center to center measurement of the MSA is …

Anyone have any advice on how to get this blue connector out from the passenger side wiring harness holder? I have been working on this for 20 minutes or so but I can’t get it out. I tried using a set of needle noise plyers to get play in the plastic, but it’s pretty rigid. Pretty sure I am going to destroy it getting it out. Any advice? Is there a tool for this?? -muze

In the process of installing my Pertronix Ignitor II electronic points, I decided to take a look inside. I have some pics attached and have a few questions: The plate below has thee black tabs on the top. I read somewhere that there should be ball bearings inside each tab. I cleaned it a bit before reinstalling but didn't see any bearings inside (they may be there but didn't see them). If they are there, should I clean under the tabs better and put some grease in there? If they're missing, what should I do? What does the screw on the top of the plate do? It seems to pivot on a cam? As I turn it, it doesn't come out, but seems to pivot in a cir…

I searched and searched but couldn't find my topic. I just installed an L28 (from 1978 280Z) in my 1971 240Z. The L28 has an early points distributor. It also has an uprated alternator with internal regulator. Other than that, it's wired for a 240Z. I want to replace the points distributor with an electronic distributor for a '78 280Z. QUESTION: Is there a diagram that depicts my configuration? Do I keep the tach in the diagram, do I need a different coil, timing insights. Any help is truly appreciated.

I'm sure this has been discussed on here before but I can't find a way to search the forum. Anyways, my driver side mirror wiggles just a bit and it looks like unless you have long skinny alien fingers there seems to be no room to reach the nut. Is there a special tool or trick? Sorry, forgot to mention this is on a 1977 280z with what look like a factory mirror. As always, appreciate any help. Thanks! Ryan

Does anyone know what the item on the left is? It's some sort of toggle switch, but can't find it on the wiring diagram. Also, the same question for the item on the right? Any help is appreciated.

As the title states, I'm trying to confirm if a 77 280 front bumper is a bolt-on replacement for a 76 280. Jai (Redwing) needs a front bumper, ckurtz2 has one that needs a home. Jai has seen pics of it, wants to go ahead with the deal, but her insurance co. wants to be sure it's an easy (bolt-on) swap with no modifications. Any info on the subject would be appreciated. Thanks. Mark
