Thoughts....? I recently examined and drove a 78 280z. The body looks nearly perfect - no rust. Seriously - no rust. Not in the fenders, not in the rocker panels, not in the rear deck, not in the frame rails. I noticed slight ripples in each of the doors along the outer most curvature of the door - maybe dings not quite smoothed out before a paint job? Car was repainted about 10 yrs ago. Interior was imaculate except for the obligatory crack in the dash. Everything works! Manual steering, brakes, and auto trans. Engine sounds great and trans operated and felt fine. I noticed that there was not a lot of power on acceleration. A mechanic told me that the auto tr…

I have developed a fuel leak at the union fitting on the float bowl after checking the filter in there. I have torn it down a second time to see if I could clean the mating surfaces and make it work, but it didn't. The surfaces looked OK but it still leaks after re-assembly. I am afrait to tighten it any more for fear of breaking the float bowl cover fitting. I guess I need new aluminum washers. Are they fairly standard or am I going to have a hard time finding them?

Greetings, I was in the process of replacing the water pump and snapped off the bottom of the two large bolts, one of the ones that goes through the timing cover into the block. So now, unless someone has a magic through the timing cover bolt extraction technique, it looks like I am going to have to pull the cover. I have a factory manual, but it is not much use for this proceedure. Can the cover be pulled without pulling the head and oil pan? If it can, what are the chances of getting it back on without it leaking. Are there any breakables to consider between pulling the bolts from the oil pan and front cover and applying the rubber mallet? Is there a better technique t…

Hi, we import Classic Cars from California and have been into them for years. We heard about a product called Rust Bullet, a new rust prevention product, and decided to try it for ourselves. We loved it so much we have imported it from America!! An LA inventor designed Rust Bullet to protect U.S. Air Force jet wingtips from abrasion during flight. It is now used on everything from cars to ships. Rust Bullet requires no preparation, just 2 coats to clean or rusty metal. As an excellent adhesion it doesn’t peel or blister away and can be painted over. It resists mechanical abuse, chemicals, abrasions, UV & weather in all climates and below seawater. It has been tested…

Hey guys,im in my first class of the morning, and im in trouble. Last night me and my pal got the Z running like a champ, took it for a spin and all was well, after fixing up some links and some wiring, it magically runs again! well today i think i made a major discovery. While we where working i had the steering console off, exposing all the wiring. Now, this wiring was moved around quite a bit while we worked on it, not intentionally. This morning i saw it fit to take the Z to school, but i started noticing somthing on the last few left turns i took, the car was begining to die out, just like that night it happened the first time....and if i think back, it happened on a…
