71 240z owned for 5 months. Been on two 900 mile rallies, driven daily, been running great. Decided to re-check vacuum pressure, after replacing two leaking hoses (block to intake manifold, intake manifold to brake booster). Started car, let it warm up. Shut it off, plugged in vacuum gauge hose. Car won't start. Won't crank, no turn signals, no horn, no nothing. Even though I thought that plugging in the vacuum gauge couldn't possibly cause the problem, removed it and still no electrical power. Battery is 2 years old, measures 12.75vdc. Searched all forums for similar issues. Charged overnight, still no electrics. Jumped from a known good battery, still no …

It's been years since I posted here. I want to post images to my member gallery, but I am not able to find it on main website. I can find it on my cell phone though. Main web site says that I dont have a member gallery. I posted a couple test photos to the "engine" gallery, and they showed up on my mobile phone. Anybody know how I can recover my member gallery on main website (my desk top computer)????? Maybe you guys can see my gallery from your computers? My member name is "Panchovisa". Thanks in advance, Panchovisa

hey gang, recently re-aquired my first car (78 z 2+2 manual). it ran a little choppy until I replace the air flow meter and ran great for a week, then choppy again. Since the AFM was from a junkyard in AZ, i again assumed that was the issue. ...Log story short - I decided to purchase the FAST EZ EFI system from z-car depot, also replace the exhaust manifold (rusted and cracked), powercoated the valve cover and intake manifold, deleted and plugged the egr...blah blah blah. Now, with everything installed and new ecu wiring harness and sensors, it idles great, all readings look fine <attached pic is warming up> Once it warms, if I touch the throttle, it …

Ive been in the middle of an engine upgrade for my 72 240Z from the 2.4 to a 2.8. I traded the engine for some other work a friends car he freshly rebuilt this 2.8 engine drove it a few hundred miles then decided to go v8 in his Z. I have driven his Z with this 2.8 motor it ran great, smooth clean running engine. anyways fast forward to me installing the motor, which was given to me as a long block basically, I transfered my SU carbs, basic electrical, alternator, regulator coil etc..new exhaust, and other minor things that needed replacing rather than transfering like hoses, cooling items and such. SO...heres where the problem starts: I had to transfer the oem 1…

Hi all !! I've owned different z's over the past 30 yrs and now have a 72 240. Most of my work has been fairly cosmetic in the past, but over the last few months, I've been working on getting this 240 running and driving consistently/safely. I've replaced all the fluids, including diff, replaced caliper, drums, brake cyl, clutch master, elect fuel pump and many more! I'd like to start tackling the suspension and want to put it on jack stands. My problem is the usual rust spots that concern me when I look to support the car from the original pinch points. I will be getting the body done in the next year or so, but really want to replace all the bushings, ne…

My 77280z starts and runs good(for awhile). It dies and will not start until it cools. I think it is the ignition module, just wanting to get confirmation from anyone who has had similar problems. Thanks JCB

bought 71 240z 3 months ago. the driver side hatch at hinge has always stood proud. seller had no info, said it was like that when he bought it, always kept it garaged so he didn't worry about rain. efforts to adjust (after searching forums) all failed. removed that hinge, has a lot of bench grinder marks for some reason. decided to replace both hinges, eBay @ $40/pair. they arrived this morning and are symmetrically different, seems like they're made for specific sides of the car does replacement hinge image 5356 show the correct orientation, driver side on the left? thanks! couldn't resist putting a TLA in the title

Spent some time working on my 1977 280z last night and was almost ready to drive it. Just had to tie off some loose ends and make sure that the brakes were operational. But that's the thing... the brakes DONT work. I can't seem to get any response from one of the front brake calipers. I can't collapse the pistons. I attempted to use a C clamp but to no avail. I ended up giving up on that and moved on to some other brake components. I recently installed a new master brake cylinder for the first time and it went reasonably smoothly. I filled the reservoir and began the process of bleeding the brakes. Only one of them bled. There's nothing coming out of the rears. The bleedi…
