The electrical harness on my Z is in wretched shape. P.O. cut through and spliced too much to name. I have no brake lights. And yes I have read an excellent no brake lights thread. I have one working turn signal (left), no hazards. I just reattached the hazard switch connector which is what brought the one turn signal online. Im thinking it’s the multifunction switch. But it’s hard to say there is so much electrical terror in my car. Maybe it’s the brake pedal switch. The most likely culprit is abuse by a PO. Any tips or advice?

I replaced the rear line with oem but the new line is gonna get ruptured as well. After a short test drive I discovered the line is rubbing against the rotating drive shaft (hope I identified it correctly). Am I missing a part or a longer line is needed? Hello i am new to all this and Z's. I have a 1978 280z coupe 5 speed. I bought it about 2 months ago. It was a barn find. Sp i just changed oil and battery and spark plugs. It turned over but it wasnt charging the battery in matter of fact it did the opposite. So i changed the alternator and also battery terminals. And new coolant as well. I also decided to drain the gasoline and add new one (one gallon to be exact). So once i did all of that i tried to start it up, and it started ( I WAS HAPPY ASF) but then it turned off as if it had died. But battery checkes out good it was at 12.5 to 13. So i tried to crank it again and it made a really bad grinding noise( when you hav…

So i just got done putting in the ZCarDepot rear sport disk kit and i also ordered the MSA 4 piston caliper kit. I also put in a 1" wilwood master cylinder and a brand new booster. I know i need to put my new proportioning valve on the rear brake line. but the question is ive seen a bunch of posts about the stock proportioning valve needing to be hollowed out. but no ones done a full diy (with pics) as far as i can see. The few posts ive come a crossed, ive had people arguing about how it is or isn't a proportioning valve. the picture below is this the stock proportioning valve ? Or is it a distribution block ? Or is it both ?... Do i just pull all the parts inside out or…

Hey guys, I need a little help. I bought a 240z with a seized engine a few months ago. It's almost time to start it up but I need some help with coolant hoses on the drive side. The car came with a copper pipe from the crossover over pipe to a bent hose to thermostat. It doesn't look right at all. Keep in mind that my engine has triple weber set up. Are the stock carbs or intake watercooled? If so , since I will not need the piping, can bypass that side completely? I was thinking of capping off the thermostat fitting and around the crossover pipe passed the heater core. I think I will still have heat. Unless the poor circulation will kill that thought. T…

Hey everyone I have a quick question as to which radiator I should get. I just went in to have my tires changed and long story short my radiator got damaged and they are going to get me a new one. They quoted me a new radiator at 500$ so I started looking around. I saw 3 different radiators. The first I saw was the Champion radiator. It's a 3 core polished aluminum radiator for 280$, its core is 16 1/8" tall and 24 1/2" wide and its overall dimensions are 23" tall and 26 3/4" wide. (Unknown weight) The next was from ZCarSource, it was also a aluminum 3 core. The website didn't specify any specs so when I called and asked about it they said it was 30" t…

Hey guys I have a early 260z . I jumped the battery backwards now I have no power anywhere. I took a look at the fuse box on the right side kick panel nothing looks melted. Also took a look at the black fusible link for the battery it doesn't look like it melted as well. You think there might be a tear that is not visible. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

Hey everyone I've been having some trouble figuring out exactly where some of my vacuum lines go. I finished rebuilding the engine for my 81zx 2+2 a couple months ago and haven't been able to figure out how the vacuum lines are supposed to hook up. I had them all marked during the rebuild but they got removed at some point during assembly. I've looked through the forum, online, and all 3 of my manuals (hilton, haynes, and clymer) and can not for the life of me understand where they're supposed to go. My uncle, who helped on my build, couldn't figure it out either and he had been a mechanic for some time. I had my regular mechanic take a look at it and he wa…

Changing out side seals on 77 280 R200. Seals I ordered from Z car depot quite a bit more narrow but correct dia. Will they work? Did confirm with auto zone they are the correct Part number. OEM can be purchased for about $86 per. new seal on left. Thanks and sorry for posting in 2 places. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile
