Hi guys, im having an issue with my startup, whenever i start it up it revs out of control and im forced to stop it because it seems like its going full throttle Info: Twin SU Carbs Smog Equipment removed L24 Block N42 Head And sometimes it revs all the way, stops, air pops out of the carb then it revs back up again almost to red line and continues

Hello! I am Nearing completion of a restoration (final phase is interior renewal/replacement of original finishing panels) for my 1977 280. I need help identifying missing part for space "cut out" . This empty space is above drivers side lower finishing panel (above hood release and vent Knob) and below dash. There is a threaded attaching spot in the middle of this open area on the metal behind dash/panel . My car has factory A/C if that matters? I will try to send picture attachment to clarify mystery space? If it would be better to post this question in another forum, please let me know...I'm trying to access a 280Z (1977?) "resident guru" ? Any help...please…

Hopefully this is the right board for this thread, my apologies if not(also, forgive me for making my first post a "help me" post!) I have a 1977 Z I have been working on getting running, I'm at the point where my focus is on the engine. Unfortunately, I've hit a wall because of an issue with a constantly high idle. Sometimes the engine will start at around 2000-2200rpm and slowly climb until it settles at around 2500-2600, other times its immediately at 2600rpm. The AFM and throttle body move smoothly, and nothing is clogged/sticking inside of either. Throttle response is pretty sharp for what its worth, even at this extreme idle. Hello everyone. my name is crash and i am having an issue with my z. i recently did a ton of work to my car and now it will not start without a shot of ether down the hole. it starts, runs and idles perfectly with a shot of ether but it just cranks and cranks without. it is a factory fuel injected 1978 280z 2+2 with lots of aftermarket external parts. nothing internal has been changed. it has great fuel pressure and amazing spark but will not start without a shot of juice. i have thoroughly cleaned all the injectors and the cold start valve ensuring great flow. i replace all the fuel lines and vacuum hoses. i have troubleshot everything i can think of a…

Question - I have a 1972 240Z. Recently replaced stock radiator with a Motorsport Auto stock 3 row one because I didn't like the temp gauge reading. Also, replaced radiator cap and installed a 160 thermostat. My problem is that when on the highway at 60-70 MPH the temp needle goes to the "M" in "Temp" on the gauge. As soon as I get off the highway it comes right down to middle......I can idle for hours and it will stay in the middle.....it's only on the highway at highway speeds. It may be OK but it worries me when it starts to climb like that. I have another '72 Z car and it NEVER moves off the middle point on the gauge. Suggestions on what to try next?? Mayb…

I'm restoring a 72 240z that's been sitting for 10Yrs. I have power to the front running lights and head lights but no power to the rear tail lights. I have also gotten the brake lights and flashers to work. Car had been completely stripped down, painted and had new dash installed. I have also determined that the head/parking light switch is ok. Seems like I'm not getting juice where the dash harness and rear one connect.

Hey Everyone, i know there are several threads on the wiper motor conversation but I am stumped. Also I have looked at the FSM but electrical diagrams are beyond me. ok enough of the disclaimers and I appreciate your assistance. We have a 2000 civic motor that works and want to use it to replace the motor on my 78 280z. The original motor worked two months ago but has now frozen up. I have gotten the new motor to run in either high or low but not high and low at the same time. By that I mean with the same wiring set up.
