I am about to replace my heater hoses on my 240z. My question is; is there a simplier way to do this job. I can just barely get my hands in there to reach one of the hoses. I'm afraid that after I finally get them off, (inside the cabin),...I may never get the new one's installed and the clamps tightened. I would like to hear how some of you guys handled this job.

Hey everyone, I was curious if anyone knew of a brand that still carried moly piston rings for 86mm flat top pistons or any other good replacement for the oem piston rings. I've been looking for some the past few days and was just up all night reading and trying to find a brand that offers them but all I can find is chrome and cast piston rings. From what I've read oem rings are no longer available and sealed power piston rings discontinued there L series moly ring set. I looked at perfect circle, itm, grant, beck & arnley, motorsport, and a few other brands but couldn't find any. If you guys have any recommendations I would much appreciate it. Last I p…

Hi, I have just completed a rebuild of a '74 260z which had been off the road since the mid 80's the engine had been messed about with a little bit and came with a lot of extra bits and pieces. I think there is a part missing but not sure exactly what it is and wondered if any of you guys could help please. There is a fixing plate the comes off the rocker head at and angle and has various fixing slots in it and i believe has a part fixed underneath it. The photo attached is with arrows pointing to the part i am trying to find out about. Welcome any thoughts please. Thanks Nick

Z ran when parked Had it running in January after I chased down a misfire issue that came from a faulty ECU. She ran mint so I began my tear down, months later here we are and I thought Id have it running today but no luck. Heres what I got so far from trouble shooting. My battery is fully charged (tender says 100%), its less than a year old. My digital multimeter has it showing about 12.8 yet when I put the car on the "ON" position, my battery gauge in the dash reads about 8.5. I tested the ECU pins with a dmm and it will read 8 and change. Is this normal? Is this a fault in the voltage regulator? I tested the 6 pin connection that goes into the voltage regulat…

I have had my z for a couple of months (1976 280z) had some trouble with the ignition relay at first (accessories did not work) but got them working in the end. Started driving it 2 weeks ago no problems everything worked fine. Then last week I went to start it and it had no spark so after messing with the ignition relay and coil for a bit I found one of the fuseable links was bad (the one that goes to the lights, whippers and washer motor controls.) I replaced it hooked up every thing tured the key, and nothing worked then I heard a relay click and a fizz frying type sound comming from the passanger side didnt smell any thing. I took out the igniton relay and took it apa…

Anyone have their center console out? I need a measurement of the hole (bottom left) so I can replace the rubber boot and center it correctly. I'm hoping this will match up. Unfortunately someone cut up the hole forcing me to use the later rubber instead of the correct one. Or should I just slide the rubber down with it in neutral and use that as the guide?

I know this could be just another question about the antenna switch, but exploring the hidden corners of my new car(240Z, 1971), I discovered that the antenna was an aftermarket non electric.. I found a automatic, and hooked it up as described in another topic, but activating the switch, the antenna goes up but won´t stays up? I have only 2 wires in the back for the antenna, so I had to connect a wire to the blue plus.. So, I might have a bad switch or the automatic antenna, does not work as it should? Any suggestions? Or should I try looking for a new switch, NOS antenna?

I just got my new carburetors from ZTherapy. After removing the front carb I find that the spacer block is pretty solidly in place after being there for 46 years. I would hate to damage it. Is there some trick to getting it to come loose so I can replace the gasket?
