Hey there everyone. I have a '72 240z. When I removed my carbs and exhaust manifold, some of the studs came out of the block. What I didn't pay attention to was which studs came out of what hole, and which holes took the bolts. Some studs remained in the block. I also notice that some studs are shorter then the others and so I need to know where they go. Hope someone can point me in the right direction, or tell me the bolt and stud configuration. Thanks for the help.

Anyone know where I can find a flexplate for a 1973 240z auto transmission? I tried "The ZCarSource" and the owner says the part is unavailable from the maker. I have one that grinds the starter every time I try to crank it.

This is something new, kinda upsetting since I have no idea what is going on. Yesterday I went to a friends house, she has a really steep driveway going up to her house. RedBird was in 2nd gear because we had not stopped before starting up the hill. She slowed down going up it, and when I gave her more gas she did not go any faster, just struggled up it. I did not try to go down into 1st gear because I thought there was not enough time, and didn't want to stall out there on the hill. When we were at the top, I smelled a heavy odor of rubber, this is the problem! What in the world is that??? Why did this happen??? I went ahead and parked with full response from RB.…

I'm about to get a 1976 280Z 2+2 at the end of November, and I'm checking around trying to find a reliable location for parts. I'm aware of www.datsunstore.com, but I live in California and I'm wondering if there are any actual parts stores anyone knows of that aren't online? My boyfriend has a 72 Chevelle and he's lucky because we're decently close to OPG, so I'm wondering if there's a Datsun equivalent? Thank you guys!

Hey mates So about a year ago I redid my rear brakes, replaced all the hardware, drums and shoes with new parts. This past week my rear brake started sqeaking when coming to a stop. Wasn't bad at first but now it sounds awful. I took the drum off and inspected the shoes but all looks find. The drum itself did seem like it had grooves in it - I'm assuming from braking. Any ideas on what this could be? It sounds terrifying whien coming to a stop, to the point where it sounds like its metal on metal. Thanks Jan

Hi Guys, any one know of a place that can repair my gas tank in NJ or Eastern PA? I was told one of the lines inside the tank has some rust. I tried to find another tank but had no luck. Is the only option sending to zcarsource? If you guys know of a place in the NJ/PA I'd really appreciate the info!

Hello! I have a 1977 280Z stock 5-speed. The original AFM seemed like it was having some issues. The engine was running rich (you could smell it and I was getting horrible gas mileage), at idle the engine did not run steady/consistent (it revved up and down sort of like ooooOOOOooooOOOOoooo ... if that makes any sense ... and the tach would move with it below 1000 RPMs to slightly about 1000 RPMs), and, lastly, sometimes when going slow in third the car would hit a point where it would jerk until you either sped up or slowed down even further. I had a spare (used) AFM and swapped it out today. The first thing I noticed is the car idled smoothly/evenly right about abou…

hello all, new guy here. i just bought a 73 240z. it has a vin # (hls30xxxxx 5 digits) stamped in the firewall which matches the title papers. there is a plate on the left door post which has a different vin number (hls30xxxxxx 6digits) which also matches the tag on the shock tower. the tag on the dash is gone which isnt a big deal according to the dmv. so my question is, which is the correct vin #? is this common or has the tag on the door post been swapped? thanks all sb

I just recently got my 78 280z running after taking everything off the intake. the first owner had left it sitting for years. The car runs great now but it will sometimes die while I am driving it. I found out that if I tighten the living crap out of my AFM it will run close to how it did before. And I will be able to drive it with no problems until it will randomly change back to needing less air. Its getting really annoying If anyone knows what it is dong it would be greatly appreciated. Things I've done: removed egr valve, removed cold start valve, removed air regulator, new plugs/plug wires, fuel injectors from an 82
