I have a slave cylinder that came off of my running motor/transmission and the decrepit rubber tube needs replacing. I was already making an order at the Z store so i added their stainless steel hydraulic tube to my basket: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic22b01e/21-2171. After pulling the rubber tube i found that the stainless tube has a much longer connector at the slave cylinder side. I threaded it in anyway and found that the tube bottoms out before making a connection. Are one of these parts incorrect?

I need to finally replace my old vent hoses on my 71. I am seeing pieces of what I believe to be aged rubber showing up in my clear fuel filters. I saw one of the old hoses back by my tail light, and it specifically said "Not for fuel use " on it! Duh. Do I need to purchase the kit of specific hoses for the 240Z, or can I just locate fuel approved hoses that are long enough to be able to fit. I have found one kit with all hoses online for 225 dollars. Seems a but steep for rubber fuel line. i seem to recall one of the hoses takes a few turns and the OEM part is most desirable, but can other cheaper hoses work? What diameter are these hoses anyway?

I'm not sure where else to post this. Mods feel free to move it if need be. I am an avid reader of various automobile related blog sites. Once in a while we come across those stores were an owner is reunited with their car from either having to sell it at some point in their life or it was stolen. I can't help but wonder in this day and age if there is a way to track classic vehicles based on their VIN prior to the 1981 standardization of VIN numbers. Here's my story... The year was 1993. I was 9 years old. and Dad was either in the double digits for Z ownership or on the verge of creeping into double digits.1 He purchased a '72 240Z and spared no time ge…

Car runs great, except for one little quirk. While driving at highway speeds, 60-70mph, if I let off the excelerator there is a quick jerk that scares the heck out of the passenger. (I know I'm letting my foot off the gas, but the passenger doesn't) I was told the problem may be in the drive train so had that all gone thru - twice - and still no dice. Problem still exists. Also checked the vaccum advance and it made no difference. Anyone else having this type of problem?

Diving head first into a few motor builds. Trying to do it right. I figured I'd ask around before approaching a machine shop. Thanks!

Hello friends, My new remanufactured distributor just arrive for my ZX into 240z swap. I went to pull the mount from my F54 block in my storage unit and it was missing! Who does check before ordering? Ugh. I'm in dire need of the mount and the adjusting plate. Does anyone have these hanging around? I found the mount online, but that still leaves me missing the plate which seems hard to find. I'm going to search the wreckers on Tuesday, but the yards around here don't have many old vehicles. Happy Easter

Hi folks - I've recently picked up a 1976 Fairlady Z (rhd); 2.8e motor. The car plate says it's an S31. It's a piece of work, but I'm excited to be diving in to get it back to life. I've had a few 300zxs, a 280z, and a 2000 Roadster. I've got some wiring questions and wondering if anyone on here has either a JDM service manual, or can help with: 1. Center console wiring harness diagram & switch connector types/pinouts. (They don't match a '76 US 280z) 2. JDM Front turn signals (240z shaped, but with a divider and two lamps) wiring diagram. It has a 4-pin connector that connects to car harness. Any help would be appreciated! I can take any pics needed. Thanks so…

I should have taken more pictures but some thing doesn't look right. In the first picture you can see from under the car it looks like I have the wrong line routed through the frame. Should it be the bigger 3/8" going to the gas tank or the smaller 1/4" line going to the canister the way I have it. I ran it this way based on the size of the grommets in the floor. You can see that in the second picture. Thanks, I hate when little things bring a project to a halt!!

Looking for a little help to narrow this one down before I start taking pot shots. A little background. Stock L26, 240Z hitachis, electronic ignition, starting to get a little tired, but still runs strong. About 6 months ago, out of no where the car developed a big misfire. All revs, all loads, plugs on the front three cylinders quite white (rear three I recall were normal tan colour). Wound in $^!# load more fuel on the front carb, no difference in plug colour, still missing. I was too busy to deal with it, so parked the car up. 3 weeks ago, pulled the car out, took it for a drive and it seemed ok. Just a little bit of a miss up in the revs sometime…

OK, I finally installed my L28 and everything is hooked up. Turned it over and its popping and backfiring and wont start, which tells me theres a timing issue. Its a 75 280z with triple webers, stock dizzy, MSD 6al, and Blaster2 coil. Here is what ive checked so far: Its getting fuel It gets spark Firing order is 153624 Set motor at TDC (compression stroke) Pulled dizzy cap and its backwards. But it wont let me turn it 180 degrees because it only lines up one way. Am I missing something? Ive heard of guys switching the firing order on the cap. Now I know Rebello put on a new cap and rotor and modified the dizzy to wire up the MSD. How would it be backwards? I…

Clutch Issues 1 2 3

Need a few words of wisdom from the pros. I replaced the clutch, pressure plate and bearing along with the master, slave, hose, and hard line. All parts were purchased from O'Reiley. Now I can't get enough peddel movement to release the clutch (bled well, and firm peddel). I did notice that the master had a shorter pushrod than the original, but didn't think much as the original had more thread than I needed. Should I look to replace the master, or ? any input would be greatly appreciated. Eric / Yakhopper
