Does everybody use these or throw them away? My rebuild kit didn't have new ones but I cleaned the old ones up and they still look squashed together. I'm thinking of putting filters before the fuel inlet on each carb and not using the old "last chance" filters. Am I making a mistake? Thanks for any replies, Cliff.

Hey gang, I've looked around and didn't see anyone mention this issue about four bolt dome top SU carbs that run horrible after everything else on the engine is correct. Recently bought an early 1970 Series 1 and it's been having really bad stumbling issues when you open the throttle from idle. Timing is dead on, valves are within spec, compression is good on all cylinders, cleaned up the carbs and even swapped out a few bits and pieces from a donor set of carbs. Bushings are in really good shape and there is almost no vacuum loss from the throttle shafts. After tuning the carbs way out of spec I got it running half way decent. Nearly impossible to sync the front …

Hi, I'd like to keep factory AC even after swapping fuel injection to triple weber. I could not find any documentation about how to. Does anyone keep factory AC with triple weber with canon intake? Thanks, tamo3

I just bought this beautiful car from the original owner. I need to find a mechanic to work on the carbs or preferably how to tune them myself. Any suggestions? Thanks

I saw a thread awhile back by someone who built a gizmo to help with setting SU float levels. It even used an external pump to mimic fuel pressure through the float valve. If this rings a bell, please post the link - haven't been able to find it again. Thanks!

My friend has a 1973 240Z with smog equipment, and he decieded to get rid of it. I just wonder what is the purpose of these pipes, my -72 does not have them. One goes to heater hose that comes from manifold and other goes to exhaust manifold?? Is there any grand purpose for these items, will they affect on anything if removed? We are planning to put E41 balance tube (euro) but it seems we have to modify the throttle lever as well.. btw. what is that small pipe that attachs to brake booster outlet?

Hey guys, just curious, is there any kind of bushing that goes between throttle rod, and where it attaches to the U shaped piece at the balance tube? (Pic for reference) I've got quite a bit of play and I'm loosing probably 15-20% throttle with the pedal nailed down. I'm pretty sure the PO's 'mechanic' messed something up in there.

The 260 has run fine (triple Webers) though infrequently. Drove fine last week. Today after hard starting (usual if it sits awhile) it ran rough then died. Lots of cranking and a few coughs of life but nothing. My first thought was clogged fuel filter. Sure enough it had junk in it so put in a new one. Unscrewed the fuel line pump to carbs and had fuel from pump go directly into a plastic bottle. Did get some fuel ( but didn't seem to be a lot) but connected everything up and the car started but didn't run well after a while and then died. Unhooked line from tank to filter and drained about a quart. Fuel looks fine. Tried again to start but same symptoms: Runs …

I have a 1973 240Z with an L24 Engine. I am looking for a pair of side draft throttle body electronic fuel injectors that will will bolt on directly in place of the carburetors. I would like the electronic control unit to be fully tune able. Does anyone know where I can purchase something like this? Thank you for any help and guidance. SJC240

So I finally got my own synchrometer (SKtype) and after having warmed up the engine and disconnected the throttle arms from the throttle shafts I took some baseline readings... The gauge on the synchrometer goes from 0 to 30. Both barrels on the first carb (the one closest to the front of the car) showed a value of 6 on the gauge, while the remaining four barrels on the other two carbs all registered at 3.25 to 3.5 The synchrometer manual/leaflet indicated that before any tuning could be done all carbs need to be within one gradation of one another... Obviously this is not the case here... On the other hand though my stock NGK BP6ES plugs look fine, I've got an O2 sensor …
