And found this. Looks like its cleaning time...this is my first time rebuilding, so I may have questions along the way Edit: just turned it over and found what appears to be a date 8/24/11, the number 1331, and a signature that looks like ztherapy...

So after looking around for while for an air filter system for my Mikunis I have decided to make a cold air intake set-up instead. There seems to be very little choices for CAI for triples-make your own or pay 400$+ for a TMW fiberglass box. Being a cheapskate and a father with bills I have decided to take my time and make my own-with a twist;)--I'll elaborate later. For now, I have been lurking around and seeing what else has been made by my fellow Z'ers. It seems that SS is the material of choice for a heat shield, I guess because it doesn't transmit heat as much as aluminum. For now I have made mine from aluminum, but plan on using a some kind of heat barrier material…

Got my Triples back from Todd last month. Here's a shot of them when I bought them, and a shot from when I got them back from Todd. They've come a long way. These 44's are going to have their work cut out for them in the Spring.

I am thinking of making an intake manifold for attaching a single 50mm DCOE weber. It would simply replace the two SU's. I am just at the concept stage and about to buy the 50DCOE....any suggestions/input on how to optimize the design or (been there done that) is most welcome. I do not think it will have any performance benefits but it should be more tuneable.

My set of triples are OER/SK's (Weber clones with a few refinements), just wondering how it is determined that a set is 40's, 45's or 50's. Is the measurement taken at the narrowest point near the butterfly valve or at the front where the air horn attaches? I ask because I would like to purchase a set of air horns and those cool SS mesh filters that snap over top. Carbs Unlimited (thanks Zedyone_kenobe) sell them as well as Peirce Manifolds but they all seem to come from one maker. They say they filter down to .009" - is that good? Is that enough or is it only for car shows? I love the look, but I don't want to sandblast the insides of the engine for looks, I want the en…

Source for new nissan SU floats? Called Bruce, ZT has some used ones, then called the local shop and will drive over there to get one, also used I guess. But nowhere to order a new nissan float? MSA (catalog shows it for $17) is out and doesn't know if they'll have them again. Zcar AZ lists it for $120 (what !). NAPA online shows a kit for the 240Z (yeah right) with a trainload of gaskets but no float. Autozone gave me the cross streets for a possible. Come on Nissan, cough up some damn floats. My front carb is way lean due to float setting which I might have messed up previously. The float on there is a type that's hard to adjust. Can't get it to sit level withou…

Ok fellow enthusiasts, I'm looking for some suggestions or some direct examples of camshaft profiles or camshafts that were used in your stroker builds. This is the planned setup: 47MM OER Triples 3.1 engine block bore Electric fuel pump Combination of 93 octane pump fuel and racing fuel N42 Cylinder head This is what I read on the MSA site Fuel Delivery System: For Camshafts 10-2001, 10-2002, and 10-2003, we offer a different grind for O.E. Fuel Injection vehicles (this is required for proper operation). Camshafts 10-2004, 10-2005, and 10-2006 are not for use with O.E. Fuel Injection systems, regardless of upgrades. Air Flow Meters used with O.E. Fuel Injection systems w…

I recently swapped some 240Z Carbs onto my 260Z, capped everything according to the other swap thread in this subforum (the only things that are unplugged are the PVC valve which im pretty sure has been unplugged since I got the car and the overflow hoses which arent connected to the air cleaner). I cranked the engine maybe 5 times before the car started and revved to 4000rpms and stayed there. I tried rearranging hoses and plugs and it did the same exact thing. the next day it wouldnt start and the engine would start going at very low rpms and would die at the same time the carbs spit gas out of the intake and would also have gas dripping from the fuel delivery line and …

So I have a stock 73 240z with all the original frankenstein'd pieces in the car. I recently purchased ztherapy round top carbs to replace my old flat tops. The car can start and idle but I'm having issues with the old balance tube. It's an n33 balance tube and n36 intake manifold. It still has all the old EGR equipment but it can't be used since theres no where to mount return wires on the new round top carb. Can anyone help me figure out what parts I can plug up/shouldn't mess with? It's beautifully overwhelming haha. Thanks guys! I took off two ports as seen in the 5th pic, I'm not quite sure what they did. Wasn't the greatest idea to copy a picture I found on the for…
