Hey guys, I am new here, and this is my first post. I live in Massachusetts, and own a 78 Datsun 510 that I upgraded to 38mm round top SU carbs. The car is now running, but one carb is running richer than the other one,and I have turned in the large nut on the bottom of that one very much, and the plugs on those two cylinders are still sooty, and darker than the rear two which seem pretty good. I have the Z-therapy video, but I am still lost. Anyone in the New England are willing to come help me out? I know this isn't a Z-car,but it has to be pretty much the same. Thanks in advance. Chris

I called Bruce today and asked this question, but made the mistake of not writing it down and forgot. Seems like he said 1 3/4", but I wanna be sure before I go cut that size hole in my new air cleaners. Also, will regular 1/4" fuel line fit the fuel bowl vent outlet nipples on top of the bowls? Thanks!

We at ZTherapy have a new customer in NJ who would like to source an earlier aircleaner to go with his new hotroddious maximous carbs. I said I'd post for him as he's not on any forums. We find him one maybe we can get him to come by and play...... Shoot me an email if you have something and I can get you hooked up..... And thanks for your support......

I have a 72 240z. I just bought it. I found the carbs would not always turn off the choke. I bought two used carbs on ebay, rebuilt them and put them on the car. I adjusted the jets to 2 and 1/2 turns out. The car would not start. I looked at the old carbs and found the rear carb was set to 6 turns out. So I set my rear card to 5 turns out and the front to three turns. Then the car started and ran well. I still have to balance the carbs and tune the carbs. Also my idle is around 1000 and it is set as low as it will go. Is this normal? Do I have a vacuum leak? How do I track this down?

Hi - I notice this mostly at highway speeds......when I let up on the accelerator I feel a bucking sensation....it's slight but definitely noticable. Once I step back down on the gas I do not feel it anymore. What do you guys think....Thanks for your help.

Hey everyone, I have been looking for someone or somewhere (Pa or surrounding areas) that might be able to tune my 72 240z with stock Su carbs. I haven't even been able to locally find a uni-syn or balance tool. Would anyone be willing to help me out? I am able to meet anywhere in PA and surrounding areas so please, let me know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Elliot

I was cleaning the SU’s on my 240Z and noticed that the needle in the middle on one of the SU’s was a little bent and this caused the core to get stuck approx 2/3rd’s the way down. What are my options? Do I have to replace the core or can you just buy a new needle. Where can i find a new needle? I looked all over the SU's and was unable to find make and model. I apologize in advance if the question are trivial.

I have removed my intake/carb assembly and would like to rebuild the carbs. I had to remove one of the float bowls in order to access one of the manifold nuts and discovered that all of the carb gaskets are brittle and junk. The carbs seem to run fine the last time I started the car, so I don't think I need to replace all of the internal parts; needles, nozzles, ect. (not to mention I am not familar enough with these parts to just order a kit to replace them if it is not necessary.) However I do feel like the gasket replacement is strightforward enough for me to try. I have a question regarding the kits that are available. Z Therepy has a comprehensive kit availa…

I just aquired an intake manifold with the AB valve still intact, My question is, does it operate without the smog pump? It has no large air connections just the small 1/8 inch tubing. Best, H Houghton
