I was looking at a 70's setup and this appears to be very similar. It's a 73 built in September 72 - so they should be flattops, shouldn't they?

Round top flat top, side draft, triples, I am confused. I have my new to me 1972 Z E83 intake and a set of 2 barel carbs that are square in nature. They are stamped Webers. The Webers I had on MGs were all side draft, these draft from the top. What are they? I have pics but couldnt get them to post.

Hi all, My son has a 72 240z that has Weber DGV carbs on it. I am trying to determin what jets would be right for the altitude we are at 5900 ft above sea level. It looks like it has 175/160 installed in it now and there is a package with 150/145 that came with the carbs when we bought them used. So, I'm guessing that just the main jets were changed?? I have heard from a couple sources that you wanted to go up 1 size for each 2000 feet in elevation. So, where does 3 sizes put me? It's a 2.4 l stock with an electronic ignition. Any help or advice would be great! Thanks, Mike

Hello Folks, I decided to treat the Z to a new pair of SU's from Z Therapy... With summer finally here I thought I'd take a road trip on down to Salem, OR. and pick the carbs up myself. I have a couple of questions, and I thought I ask for opinions... First off does anyone know if Z Therapy have a garage service to where I could have them swap the carbs out while I'm down there? If not can anyone suggest a reliable, reputable garage that would be able to do the swap while I was in Salem... thought I would save myself the core, and shipping cost, and spend it on the gas for the trip the other question is would this be a good idea?? Should I just send away for them and have…

I just installed a Holley electric fuel pump on my '71, and am having minor second thoughts about where I mounted the thing. (But I don't know how else I could mount one.) I drilled and tapped two 6mm holes in one of the brackets that holds the trailing end of the rear A arms and mounted the pump there. By the way, that bracket must be made out of spring steel, because it is hard as hammered $%&&! The instructions that came with the pump specified that it had to be mounted vertically, with the motor above the pump itself. Holley also wanted the pump mounted lower than the tank, but there was no way I was going to leave it hanging down below the suspension. I al…

So, I have a leak coming from the middle carb (side drafts). It seems to be coming out of the carburetor itself because gas drips out of the intake. I took the tops off to check the floats and none seem to be damaged, my first idea was that the floats were not doing their job, therefor letting too much gas into the carbs. In the end, I will probably have the carbs rebuilt by a local weber guy, but is there anything else could check for that might be an easy fix?

After I’m done replacing the diff and tranny in my 260z I would like to get rid of my crappy flat top carburetors. My original thought was to go with round top SUs from Ztherapy which is what everyone on the forums seems to be recommending. Unfortunately the price is rather expensive. I don’t have any of the cores so if I read their website correctly it will cost me 980 for the carbs, balance tube, and linkage. The guy that sold me the transmission has been working with Z cars for a very long time and he recommended converting to a 4 barrel carb using the Arizona Z car manifold. The carb he recommended was the Edelbrock #1403 500cfm (not the Holey 390). This seem…

Hello all, My question is how do you know how much to open the breather dial to get correct flow on a carb sync. I watched the z therapy video but am still stumped.

i just complete my conversion over to the z therapy su carb setup on my 73 z and i'm very pleased with the result. I was curious as to those who have the same setup what has been their cold start strategy as far as the choke, etc. do you pump the accelerator at all or just open the choke, wait and fire. all carbs are a little different and i wondered what members have found works best.
