Well for those who are wondering what type of HP gains can be had from going triple. I just went to triple OER(SKs) 45mm on my car. L28 block, N42 head, MSA Stage III cams & 6-1 header 2.5" exhaust. With SUs 165 rwhp 163 torque With triple OERs 185 rwhp 177 torque. Still more left in motor if I changed to a more agressive cam. Tom

While investigating a hard starting problem, I discovered that the nozzle on the front carb is stuck. That is, it is frozen and can't be moved. Carb is a three screw round top. Any suggestions on how to free it up without destroying the carb body? Thanks!

Turn 10 at Texas World Speedway is a 180 degree right-hander with about a 100 foot radius. Speed through this turn is approximately 35 mph and the g-forces are to the left. My Mikuni fuel pick-ups are on the engine side of the carb. Yep, the centrifugal force of the lengthy, relatively hi-G turn sloshes all the fuel away from the ports. Question: Does anyone know where I can find information on constructing baffles to minimize this fuel starvation problem? I've used the search function but not found any key-word matches. Thanks in advance. Frank

Hello I am very close to bolting a set of 40mm Delortos on a Cannon manifold on to my L24 and I am not sure what I should do about the vacuum advance from the distributor. From my reading and looking at pictures there appears to be a mixed approach. Some have drilled the manifold and connected it there but my reading says this is not the best solution. Others have not connected the vacuum advance at all. I am running the standard distributor with Pertronix ignition. If I am going to drill and tap the manifold I would like to do it before I bolt them on so I am interested in opinions on what way I should go. Warren

After removing my Ztherapy Carbs to replace the old insulators. my rear choke started to stick open. I noticed the carb was laying on it's side while doing this. I've examined the carb. I just don't see what is causing this. I'm hoping it isn't internal. It doesn't do it all the time. Say maybe 50%. Any suggestions as to what I upset?

Anyone know of a good Z guy, with SU experience, around Southeastern MA? I might want to have somebody take a look if I can't work out my carb/timing issues this weekend.

I'm not a big fan of blown carburator cars (mostly because they never seem to work entirely great and are a bitch to tune). But i was thinking today, the SU's are not like your standard carb, since they meter the air as it comes in and add fuel accordingly, their almost (in theory) like a fuel injected car. You guys think i'd be possible to take a small turbo, maybe one from a 300zx Twin turbo (just one), and split it into two pipes and direct it thru the SU's? Just bored and thinking about different things. Would it work (moderate boost maybe 8psi). What gains (hp) you think you would get? Too hard to do? (i'm not thinking so). What do ya think?

So I bolted up the new ZTherapy SU's, and barely got her to start. Very weak, no throttle response. As careful as I was, I'm thinking the most likely thing is that I'm 180 off with my distributor. Any other ideas?

Hi guys, i have just removed my twin su's from the L24. I then installed the SU's in the exact reverse procedure of taking them off (i think). The pistons in the SU's dont move up and down now. I can lift them with my finger quite easily, but they just fall back down. When i start the engine, it just revs higher and higher and there is no throttle response. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix? Im thinking it is something simple but cant seem to find it. Thanks for your help.

Seems to be a lot of triple carb questions lately. Here are some pics of my Weber set-up and hand-made linkage. I am by no means a machinist, but I had access to some hard aircraft aluminum (7075), a bandsaw and a grinding disc to get the shape I wanted. The linkage rod is 5/16 stainless rod with the stock Z U-bracket welded on the end, so I could use the stock setup from the firewall. The uprights and links to the throttle plates are Heim joints from a local speed shop.
