Okay so i just won a set of fairly nice 70-72 carbs off ebay with the intention of finally getting rid of my 73 flat tops. Thing is I'm not sure of is exactly what I need to make the swap. I know there are places that probably sell a kit or something like what I need but being new at this anyone out there with tips or experience with the topic please feel free to give some advice.

Does anyone make a fuel level indicator for the SU carbs that can be mounted where the drain screw goes, and be left in place permanently?

Is vapor lock a possibility on the 73 Hitachi flat tops because I am having some engine problems that can't really be pinpointed to a certain thing? There's usually a decrease of engine power after its been driven for around 10minutes. The loss is sporadic and sometimes only happens once but sometimes it will cause me to pull off the road to allow it to clear itself up.

Are there any reasons why I can't use a 240Z tank in an early 260Z car ? I presume that they have the same shape, the same support straps and outlets etc ? Were there any mods made on the tank for the electric fuel pump set-up on the 260Z ? Thanks.

Hey everybody, I have a '74 260Z (the previous owner dropped in an L28-P79) and he put in these fuel pressure regulators: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PFFC05/11-2986 I was wondering if any of you have these and happen to know what a good setting on them is. They're set on 4.5 psi at the moment. Thanks!

I am trying to use a pair of SU from a 240 Z to replace the ones that came on my Fairlady Z (1970). After I had them bolted up the car was hard to get started, but once it did it ran like it was at WOT. I tried backing off everything, but it didn't help. :disappoin Does any one know what may be the cause, and how to overcome it?

I'm finishing a replacement N42 head plus a retune of my existing SUs. Got a great deal on another set of SUs plus intake and am debating having them bored out and dropped on my refreshed top end motor. I'm really debating breaking down and getting a set of triple Mikunis but the bored out SUs seem like a better deal in terms of cost, reliability and ease of tunability. Engine is an L-28 with an N42 head, a Schneider street cam and a header. It's a street car with an occasional run to the track for HPDE/autocross. Anyone have big bore SUs? How do you like them? Any tricks to tuning them? Should I have the machine work done then buy the Ztherapy rebuild kit or vice-…

I am looking to buy a 240Z that has triple SK carbs. I have owned cars with webers and Solex, but am not familar with SK. Are these decent carbs and can parts and jsts still be found for them? Is there an available technical manual on them? I didn't have much luck finding info on the web except that they are not available in the US anymore. Thanks Tom

I know it's so related to each engine/use/situation that it's almost useless, yet what kind of jetting do you have on your triple set? I found an OER set-up with this setting : carb45φ main jet150# air jet200# Idling jet60# Pump jet40# What's yours?
