Hey everyone, This is my first post on this board. Great posts on SU's and carbs in general. I didn't find anything on this, so if I am posting a question that has already been answered in the archives, I am sorry. I have a 3.1L build that presently has SU's with Grose-Jets on it. I will eventually go to triples or throttle bodies but for now, this is what I have. In anycase, check out the attachment. See how there are two vacuum ports, one blue and one green? The next two? I am curious as to what they were for? Any recommendation on how to plug them? Are the NPT or some BPT? If not, I imagine I'll need to just drill and tap the holes and then plug them? Than…

I recenly purchased an l24 to put into my 72 240z, it has the stock su carbs but the mechanical fuel pump (or where it should be) has been blocked off. I imagine that is so an electric fuel pump could be run insted. My question is what the heck do I do? Do I get one and put it where the mechanical used to be and where and what do I buy? Thanks ps when are we going to play forza 2 on xbox? my live id is xxrejoyxx, look me up !

I have a 74 260Z with twin hitachi carbs. It will not start after it sits for a few days no matter the temperature. I pump the gas and it turns over but refuses to start unless I spray it with starting fluid. Once it starts it is good for a day or so. I just got it and it will sit for the winter but I want to get it ready for spring. I am not a mechanic but the fuel pumps are good, no leaks. I just cant get ignition when cold without ether. The guy I bought it from said it has always had this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I bought the original 74 service manual by nissan but need a push in the right direction. don't know anyone familiar with these carb…

im currently upgrading my fuel system (braided lines -6 /fittings) on my webers. i have found a few different fittings but they are all in red/blue finish. i cant find any in a natural or black finish that fit m12x1.5. has anyone found a banjo or inlet fitting that is not red/blue? i figured i would check the board first before i start calling the manufacturers directly. thanks todd

For a 240z, with Stage II cam, 1980zx distributor, exhaust system, what would be better. 40mm Triple Carb kit, or the Holley 4BBL Carb? How would these two compare in availble performance for the L24? The Holley does seem like it would be nice as I wouldn't have to keep 3 Carbs in sync, but only if it is worth it. Would it even be much better then stock Carbs?

Hey Guys, I have searched and can't find anything about running Tripple Webers using vacuum advance. I have a 1973 240Z that is stock except for the Webers, Pertronix ignition and 6-1 headers. The Webers have 30mm chokes installed and run pretty well. I'm just looking to get a little better driveability and maybe better mileage. I have rebuilt the stock distributer and the vacuum advance starts to to move at 12 pounds of vaccume and finishes its "curve" at 15 pounds. The diaphram holds vacuum for at least 15 minutes, so its working OK. I believe the vacuume line needs to be on the air cleaner side of the throttle valve, but there are no fittings to connect to. I'…

Well, can triple SU's be done easily? Buy an SU for extremely cheap on ebay, and then a triple webber manifold? Or might you have to make your own manifold. Might even be able to do some mods to a current one? If the SU's can already be tuned for really good performance, I think that it would be cool and much cheaper just to buy an SU and get a manifold instead of having to spend $1,000+ on a triple carb kit.

So, I've been doing a lot of research on the conversion from FI to SUs and I know that this is no longer an option but a necessity. The FI system on my Z was badly neglected and would cost WAY to much to get back going. My only question left is what to do with the wiring for the injectors after the swap? I have a 76 280Z. Will there be any electrical issues to take care of in switching from FI to SUs when it comes to the removal(?) of the FI wires? Im guessing that this car has an ECU controlling the injectors? I just got this Z a while ago and it's a neglect nightmare. Surprisingly the body and frame are in good shape and there is very little surface rust. Any help and a…

I hope it's not already covered, if so direct me to the thread please. If I understand, SU with SM needles are good enough for big street power on a preped L28. Would this option work as well? Lotta cheaper than full 6 TB I am after 220/5 hp not 300:) http://www.extrudabody.biz/servlet/the-135/Twin-SU-SU%27s-MGB/Detail
