For the last two days every time the temp goes a little above the center of the gauge, I'm guessing abut 195 to 200 or so,the engine quits and won't start again til it cools down. I have never had this problem before and the heat on one trip last year went quite a bit higher than it is now with no problem. I've checked the obvious, water level, fuel filter, fuel pump etc. and found nothing. The outside temps have been a bit higher than normal but nothing serious and heat like this has never been a problem before. I'm stumped. I am running Z Therapy SU's if that means anything. Any input greatly appreciated. Best, HCH

Saw on their website where they're offering a triple alternative to Webers, Dellortos and Mikunis in the form of S&Ks. Anyone have any more detail than what's posted?

Hey guys; I'm listing my entire mod list on my L28. I'm considering upgrading to triple weber carbs but I'm not sure if the gains are worth the cash outlay. The local guy is asking $600cdn for the 3 carbs, 3 rebuild kits, new linkage, manifold and all. Would my mod list below warrant these carbs for power gains? My current setup is pulling 162hp/162trq at the wheels. L28 #F54 engine block, flattop pistons, siamesed cylinders. The block was professionally boiled and cylinders honed. New- piston rings, crankshaft bearings, oil pump, timing gear and chain kit, water pump, freeze plugs, gaskets and seals, hoses and belt. P79 cylinder head. Performance rebuild including- re…

I just had my L26 swapped out for an L28. The car runs great except the idle is around 1100 I like it around 750. I have tryed to adjust the idle but it has no effect. I can turn the idle screw all the way out and it still stays around 1100. I have never adjusted my SU carbs before but they worked perfect on my L26. Is there a bigger jet or something when using the L28 with roundtops? Also It looks like my hood is a little crooked now and was wondering how to line it up. Thanks Chris

I'm considering piecing together a Mikuni 44 setup over the next few months and am curious if anyone can provide some info on these two intakes I saw on EBay, the seller doesn't have much detail on them from what I can tell. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Six-Pack-Manifold-for-240z-260z-Webber-Mikuni_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ013QQitemZ230152952662QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Six-Pack-Manifold-for-240z-260z-Webber-Mikuni_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ013QQitemZ230152950692QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Hey guys. I've been fighting this problem since I got the Z 4 years ago. The Z idles at about 850 RPM's wich is great, nice and smooth. once I start driving around the car will jup up about 150 to 200 RPM when I come to a stop light. If I tap the gas peddle, the idle will slowly (in about 1 to 2 seconds) drop back down to 850. the Z runs smooth as a top at both RPMs but I would like it if it were a constant 850. Is this a throttle shaft problem? the shaft bushings have never been redone. The chrome on the shafts is worn. there is nothing binding or hanging up in the linkage, so thats not the problem. My carbs are supper clean I pretty much rebuilt them with the…

I have 3 x 44 Mikunis, and recently noticed that one of the bores on one of the carbs has lower a lower vacuum reading compared to rest of the bores. This is taken with a Synchrometer which is very consistent/accurate. This one bore measures a vacuum level of "3" compared to "5" on the rest of the bores at idle. I have since moved the carbs around to isolate whether its a carb problem or not, and the problem goes with the carb as I swap the carbs around. I have since pulled the carb out, dis-assembled everything, blown everything out with compressed air, checked the jets etc. I have also swapped the position of the jets, and top cover (including floats) to see whether I h…

I took my z to a transmission shop last fall to get the clutch replaced (Sept 2006I. It started when I took it in. When I picked it up this spring, it wouldn't start. If you sprayed ether directly into the front carb, it would run as long as you sprayed ether into it, then die. - so far I have drained the fuel out and replaced with fresh fuel. - Sprayed a ton of carb cleaner into it. - replaced the fuel filter - pulled off the fuel hose at the carb and checked to see if fuel was coming through, there is. I got an inch of fuel in the bottom of a cup after turning over a few times. - adjusted the points. They weren't closed but were very narrow. It is now set at about .01…

I know there may be varing opions on this matter but being a newbie are there drawback to having tis type of setup. Should I budget an SU conversion? I just need something that runs good and perfoms well. Any help would be apprieciated. Thanks - J

In my on-going battle with vapor lock I decided it was probably time to replace the fuel rail insulation, since its been missing since I've had the car. Does anyone sell this part and if not what is a suitable substitute? Thanks all, H Houghton

Hi Guys, I've got some tripple Dellorto DHLA carbs coming soon for my L28. I am looking for a suitable manifold and believe the SK tripple inlet manifold to be OK. Does anybody have experience with this manifold? The biggest concern is finding a linkage kit for tripples using this manifold, is there a universal linkage kit to fit the SK manifold? Thanks, Sulio oh and anybody have a link to a site that sells this type of manifold and accessories? Further to that what are your recommendations and available manifolds and links to use? We have a local brand called Redline but I've heard a couple of negative reports on thier linkage kit.
