I am starting in 30 minutes, and will be checking back here at break times, so any information you guys want to share, let me have it! Precautions, how tos... whatever. I'll keep you guys informed, and if the car runs, maybe do a writeup with some help...

This is the first time I have polished a head. Would be interested in any general information on procedures. Was told by one person that it is better not to polish to a high sheen but to leave a slight roughness to it to help the gas & air mix. Also would like to know the value of the water circulation through the intake manifold. Was told by someone that the only reason it was there was for the emission control system. The car now is smog exempt so could it be bypassed or is it still needed? Hey guys. What needles are stock in 72 240 SU's? The needles I have don't have anything stamped on them. I've been running SM needles with stock nozzles and I was reading some posts here and "beandip" aka Gary has been screaming about how it will ruin the L28 to run SM needles. So now I don't know what the hell to do. so should I change to smaller nozzles or should I put the stock needles back in. HELP!!!!

http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser=8707&cat=500 I just added a bunch of pics of my carbs to my gallery (the "my carbs" photo album does not appear to have photos in it... not sure how that works). I have been kicking around what to do next (carbs need a rebuild at minimum, may be an excuse to go to SUs, and I need to educate myself on tuning and maintaining the carbs -- I want to make that investment into whatever system I am going to have for the long term). Trying to figure out a few things... -I have been trying to figure out for a while what I even had... weber DGVs on cannons is my best disgnosis after a bunch of homework (http://www.w…

:rambo: So I got this guy in Italy....has all sorts of NOS weber parts. I decided I did not like the performance of my triples (flat spot during accel) and ordered some different jets, tubes, chokes, etc. They came in yesterday so I decided to re-jet the carbs today. The carbs are 40DCOE18. I am now running 30mm chokes, 120main jets, 135 air correctors, F-11 emulsion tubes, 50F9 idle jets, and the accel circuit has 45 jets, 50 pump bleed and 10mm pump rod stroke. I balanced the carbs and set the idle at 1k, then rebalanced and reset, yall know the deal. Now the car comes off idle smooth with no flat spots or bogs, and pulls steady to redline. I did notice a loss of…

Hi Guys hope you can help me out. I have a 2.8 Litre motor with 1.3/4" SU's and the car runs really badly at low revs 700 to 2,000. Once the car gets up in the revs, say up to 5,000 it seams to run quite well. When the car gets warm some of this low rev problems goes away. The car has a lumpy cam in it and I dont know if the problem is due to the cam or the SU's, but have a feeling its a fuel problem. I live in Australia, so can anyone tell me a place to get SU rebuild kits or are other nissan models such as the 240k, 280C good places to look for another set of SU's.

Since I ordered the Ztherapy rebuild kit i've been tinkering with my carbs. I cleaned up all the old parts and put everything together. But i'm having an idle problem. When I turn the key on a cold motor (even a warm one) it needs some help.* Once I’ve revved it a few times till idle pretty good at 1400. The problem is when I adjust all the settings to have a bit lower idle it wont stay. I have the Ztherapy video and I pretty much know how to tune it but its still giving me grief. I checked the float and jetting both are set fine and not sticking. Its driving me crazy because it revs fine it just wont idle right. Any ideas? * I don’t have a choke cable or any of the s…

I have a 73 and am converting over to 72 SU's. I got the flat tops off the car, but noticed that there are not holes in the heat shield to connect the springs from the carbs. do I need a new heat shield or can I simple add some holes to my existing shields? How critical are the locations? Tx, Bill

I have just bought a set of the S.U.s from Ztherapy for about $750 with the adapter for the air filter. They are going on a 73 240z that had the hitachi flat top carbs. How hard are they to install and what can I expect to encounter? anyone ever ordered theirs from ztherapy? How long does it typically take?
