My Z is at the body shop and the body guy says he wants me to get the left and right rear replacement quarter panels. So far I have found them at Black dragon for a fair price, but they tell me they are back ordered 3 weeks. I cant find them anywhere else on the internet so far. Any suggestions?

I have a newly re-chromed front bumper and over-riders with new rubber strips for the guards. My question is; I also have the period optional gurad, (the chrome bar that connects to the front over-riders). How does this connect? Do I drill through my new rubber strips? Do I have to trim them? How does the chrome bar work along with the new rubber strips?

Does anyone have any experience with the 75-78 280Z floor pans from ZeddFindings? I'm looking for thoughts on how well they align with the existing bends and angles in the 280 floor. Installation pictures would be great. Thanks in advance and yes I did try a search but it seems to only result in 240 style floor pan replacement.

I got the engine bay and interior painted this weekend. I have a couple small spots I have to wet sand but over all I think it turned out pretty good. Now time to start putting some parts back on. Brian

This has been an issue for years. The drivers side door makes a loud pop when opened. The detent roller has a indention carved into it on one side from wear. I can rotate the roller so the indention is on the backside. This works for one time, then the indented side moves back to the front, and the door starts making the loud pop again when opened. This article has some great information: Rebuilding Door Hinges on 1st Generation Z Car http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/body/doorhinge/index.htm but the author found "some lower hinges that had the return springs and roller stops in place". He rebuilt the hinges using new bushings and pins and seemed to use existing d…

Hi all, My 240Z was rear ended before I got it though the only damage I can see is the drivers side bumper mount point was pushed forward 1/2 inch and there is a 5 inch diameter "soft" dent just under the bumper that can be seen in the right side of the picture where the paint has come off. I have done some body work before but I am not very experienced. I assume the soft dent could be pulled out with a slide hammer or whatever they call them but is there another option? The bumper mount point has a reinforcement plate on the inner side of the valence which should make it more difficult to pull out using a slide hammer I would assume. I thought of using a come alon…

Sheet of red closed cell craft rubber 8 1/2" X 11" cut and glued to the bracket where the cowl sits... no rattle. You can buy black sheets and do the rectangles where the hood sits in the inspection lids.

I am a little confused. I was at a local paint dealer talking about ppg paints and have decided to go with the DP line of epoxy primers (I have already acid etched the car) and I had a sample of the 920 Gold made up from the PPG formula in the computer. I brought it home and applied some to an area that did not get sunlight of the last 40 years and the color was alot browner than the stock color. To be honest it looks a lot different than alot of the 920 Gold cars I see online. I also hear it refered to as Safari Gold. Is Safari Gold and 920 Gold the same color or was the early series 1 gold different than the 71 920 gold? Thanks, John
