Has anyone had any success with this product? http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=16394&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=459&iSubCat=460&iProductID=16394 It looks pretty reasonable, but does it stand up to Professional grade powder coatings? It would be great for small suspension parts and what-nots...

priming the car 1 2

I am planning on having the shell of my 240z chemical dipped to remove the paint, rust, etc. My question is: when you are down to bare metal, what is the best way to prime the metal? I have seen cans of self etching primer at Autozone, etc. but have heard that many primers are actually porous and won't save the metal from rust. It may be some time between the stripping and the painting. I don't have the money to go straight from the dip to paint. Also, there is some body work to be done. So, can I buy a bunch of cans of primer and slap some on to protect it until the eventual paint or is an epoxy primer (that someone else has to do) the only way to go? Thanks. Ca…

So I just bought this great Z. The 2nd owner painted it a horrible burgundy color that is all faded now. The paint job was not quality. So it needs to be redone. The original pant code is #905 red, with the sticker preserved on the radiator support. I really like the #114 green that was offered in the first years. http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/113green2.jpg Would it affect the value of the car to change the paint color from the factory original? I am thinking no, especially because the engine is a replacement and no longer numbers matching. Pretty much any new paint will significantly increase the value of the car. My question is will repainting the car the origi…

I am in the process of removing the undercoating from my rear wheel well. I am encountering the factory seam sealer at the fender/body seam. I plan on applying POR-15 in the wheel well once finished. I know I need to replace the seam sealer, but I am concerned that the POR-15 will not adhere to it. Conversely, I am concerned that the seam sealer will not adhere to the POR-15 if I were to do the reverse. Any suggestions? Thank you, Bo

We've tried and tried over at Hybridz to come up with some information about this car and it's bodykit, but came up dry. It seems somebody sniped the pictures from a guy that sniped the pictures, and nobody knows anything at all about it. Does anybody here have any info about what's become known as the Monza Mystery Z? I'm hoping it's not a one-off bodykit, but I'm starting to resign myself...Sure does look like it was meant for the JGTC, doesn't it?

I have this front body kit piece on my 73' 240z, and it has odd handle or lever tyle pices or both sides like fog lights. but i am a new comer to additions or options to the Z can anyone tell me what this is, it is in my avatar picture. What does it do, and can i add foglights to this area? And also can anyone tell me the original size of rims, and tires for the 240z and at what limit do you need to adjust the speedo. Thanks in advance

A while ago someone posted an SF Bay Area craigslist ad for a set of all the factory G-nose parts... the craigslist post has been deleted and I don't see a subscription to that thread in my UserCP... Anyone know what happened to it? Did someone on here buy it? Regrets... regrets... regrets.... -e

I think you'll all agree the whole retro styling come back for car manufacturers has been big over the last few years. Cars like the new Mustang, Fords new GT40, and recently I've seen magazines showing off a retro concept Lamborghini Miura that looks kick arse. Well I was thinking about this in regards to the look of the 350Z even though it is a nice looking car it's a real shame the Japs did'nt go down the retro path on the 350Z. Perhaps there are issues with the apparent really bad aerodynamics in the S30 as I've recently read on a hybridZ thread but I'm sure they could have worked more closely around the original S30 styling. Having said all that I was admiring the li…

Well, I want to get one for my rear hatch window. They look extremely nice and should keep the cabins temps down when parked. How much do these aluminum louvers weigh? Does anyone have the side window louvers? I am thinking that I might get a pair but am not sure how they look. Any one got a Z with these side window ones on that have a link?
