What color is the lower engine cover on the early Z's? The one I have was undercoated! It has red on it but may be from overspray. Are they black or body-colored?

Hi there folks, Sorry if this is an obvious question but I've recently bought a 240z to restore and noticed the one I bought doesn't have side indicators in the rear quarters or the front gaurds. (Australian car by the way) At first I thought they'd been welded up and bogged over but closer inspection of the back of the panels shows untouched original paint in the matching color to the rest of the body. I've been a fan of 240's for a long time but can't ever recall whether they all had the rectangular side indicators or not. Every one I look at now that I've noticed has had the indicators. Looking at a car with some front end damage: lhs headlight cracked and guard damaged, bumper cracked, bonnet slightly bent, rhs front guard slightly misalligned (noticable only when someone tells you where to look). Cant really see the rails under next to the engine - too much stuff on top, car appears straight form fornt and back, pillars and rood ok. So was wondering if its possible to check if the chassis was bent? Was thinking of trying driving a car and just looking at how it behaves but I assume that the wheels were not alligned after crash so it will be hard to tell what behaviour is due to chassis damage and which is due to un-alligned wheels... any suggestions? The car is getting painted yellow with black stripes doe sure. The air dam and spoiler are getting paint black for sure. I would like your opinions on whether I should add the reverse yellow stripes on the air dam and spoiler. I know there are air dams that you can put on your Z that don't require a front bumper, but what if I want one, like this site's red car, that seems to need one. I am not fond of the big bulky ones that look like big blocks of fiberglass attached to the front, but how do I make the necessary adjustments since my bumper's destroyed.

OK, I am not usualy someone to just post what the hell I have done, but it's 1:30 in the morning and I just spend 12 hours painting my Z. I was supposed to have the car painted today in my garage by a pro painter from the body shop my best friend works at, but he was busy with shop stuff and said he couldn't get it done today or tomorrow. OK quick question, someone told me that Eastwood rust encapsulator would work well as a weld thru primer. I know you can't have 100% non-rust after welding anything, but will this work or do I have to buy the "Weld Thru" stuff? Any ideas??

I'm looking to put an air dam on my '73 Z but I want something that isn't totally out there. If anyone's got pictures of your Z or anyone elses with one on it that would be great cuz I'm just trying to get an idea of what looks good with the car without making it look like something made for street racing.

I was wondering is there a possiblity that The BRE spook from MSA http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=50-1521&Category_Code=7AD1 Will work on the 75-78 280z or will it require major mods or not work at all just wonder cause no matter what Z I get 70-78 i want this front spoiler (front Dam) seems like the only problem is the turning signals as thats the only difference i can see between 70-74 and 75-78 please help thnaks in advance
