I am trying to find a paint code for my light blue 1977 280Z. It has the paint code sticker but it is not readable. Also trying to find out about coolant plugs that the previous owner installed and what should be there. It is located on the foward section rh and lh side of eng, the one on the lh side is up high close to valve cover the rh one is lower and fwd. When I had to change the plug from a rupture cooland came out. Could it be a hose needs to be installed to connect the two together? The size is small around 1/4 inch diam. Thanks Rod

I have a slight problem. I see many people talking about taking off your bumpers on this board, and every other Z board out there. I purchased my Z car without any bumpers. I did not really think it was going to be a problem until I wanted to add aero to the car and maybe a different rear skirt. I was wondering do I need bumper mount to mount a body kit to the car. I was thinking something that looks like fiberglass bumpers. I really need some sort of solution for the bumpers.. can anyone point me in the right direction? Even if its something like 240 mounts and bumpers, I don't rreally care, I just can't get bumpers on the car as of right now. I could use any an…

I have a 78 280 2+2 that I am in need of floor pans for. I thought I had a line on some but that fell through ( no pun intended:lick: ) any way does any one have a rust free set of pans that they might want to part with for a reasonable price?

I was wondering what size are the dealer(?) fitted stripes down the side of the 240Z's are? what the spaces between the stripes are, how big the large and small stripes are and how big are the letters/numbers? I am going to replicate something like it for my 2+2 in black, just for some contrast! But im going to put '260z' between the door and rear wheel arch. Cheers!

I have been told that my rear window defroster is a bad circuit and needs to be replaced. What has everyone else been doing about this problem? Does anyone else have this problem? It's a 72. Thanks Scott

The front tire on my 280Z hits the frame rail when I turn it all the way right. The body shop guy said to just grind the flange of the frame rail so the tire isn't hitting. Are there any alternatives? I was thinking about putting a clamping stop thing on the steering rack to limit the movement. Something like a hose clamp. thx

Anyone have any experience "reattaching" a fuel filler door to it's hinge? I have a '77 Z and made the mistake of backing into the filler door while I was filling the tank which slightly pulled the door away from the hinge. When I open the door now I have to slide my hand up against the inside part of the hinge to push it open instead of pulling the door open. Thanks, Bob

Well I am still in that oh so happy I just bought a 240Z, stand in the garage and stare at it stage but I think I have a little problem. The car had been hit in the passengers front fender and it bent up the inner fender a bit in the front. I thought that was all it did but after pulling off the fender and assessing the situation it looks like the frame got bent a bit. What do you guys think? Aside from the rust it looks like the frame is kinked right above the TC rod mount. The drivers side is straight as an arrow but this side has a noticeable kink. I am planning to take the car to a media blasters and have it stripped, do you think I should have take it to the body…

Hey guys, I got my tailights out, and going to clean them up and all. I heard you can put the light assembly into a hot bath to peel apart the lens from the housing. But I was wondering what type of glue or substance do you use to put them back together? Thanks, Joe

Hello, I'm importing a EUDM '73 240Z fom Switzerland. I've spotted on the photos that the indicators are not mounted below the front bumper like on this G-nosed car... ...but are set in a separate, let's say, box, sticking just in front of the grille, just like here: My question is: did European cars have those as standard from the beggining of production? As far as I know, the 260Z had those indicators as standard from the beggining of production. I didn't spot them on any American or Japanese 240Z, were they mounted only for the European market then? Tony.

I hope I put this in the correct forum. My Z was rear ended and I need a straight rear center section. It will be dechromed, and modified on the ends like the one on the car now. But I need a straight center section (preferably 73) for the body shop to work with. It seems like these aren't available new any longer. Is that true? Anyone have leads on a straight used one for a 73? Thanks,
