Hey Guys, I have repainted my doors, fenders hood and front parts and now I'm getting ready to do the back half/roof area. My question is the car was treated by Ziebart in 1975, they did a great job because theres very little rust in the car. The problem is all the little 3/8 holes in the jambs and the back hatch area. Should I just buy some plugs and not worry about it or try to patch them up. I dont want to cause any problems by welding patches, and I think I will have a hard time since the "Gooey Mix" is everywhere, and might foul up the weld. All the holes are in blind areas. There are 8 holes in the rear hatch area alone. I'm not going to show the car, I just wan…

Hey Guys, I just had my '73 repainted back to the original Orange. I painted the fenders & doors and all of the other parts off the car. My question is where do all the rubber pieces for the inspection lids go? All the rubber was gone from the front of the car except the cowl piece. I just want to do this right. I have looked through the Gallery and cant seem to find a shot showing what I need. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Doug

Well. I just recently got my hands on a 71 240z. It appears that the car use to be orange. But unfortunately someone removed the paint sticker on the radiator support and painted the entire engine bay black. The paint sticker has been removed. Looking at the engine bay there are some places where the black paint is pealing and I can see a significant amounts of orange(ie firewall). I also looked under the dash and found orange painted there as well(nothing has been painted there). The floor boards in the car(was left of them) are orange and the jack storage location is orange. The lid. Any other way that I can be determine if it was original orange or not. Thanks.

Hey guys, Was cleaning the car today and took off the door sills and the passenger side found this.... Holes weren't there until I touched the spots with a screwdriver. Checked the floors and they are still good. This isn't a spot that needs to be replaced is it? What are some fixes i can do? I have never had to deal with rust before. Thanks guys, I'll be searching the forums in the time being as well.

Got the grill and am in the process of trying to shoehorn it into place. I know some slight "mods" need to be done but am curious what anyone else who's got a grill in a later 240 did to get it in there.

I checked both the FSM and my Haynes... neither gave a good basic dimension to set the hood spring/pin at such that the hood shuts nicely when you close it... I spent 45min adjusting it in and then back out again with no improvements whatsoever... Can someone who's hood does close nicely give me that basic dimension? At least then I will know if I am way off or what... Thanks, -e

Looking to pick up a half mask respirator for general body/paint/sandblast etc. Was wondering what everybody uses. Just trying to protect the old windbags. Noticing a lot of 3M and AOSafety products around. I would like to find something that will still have replacement filters available a year down the road. Don't wanna spend a fortune, but do wanna keep my lungs stretchy.

Someone recently posted a link to a car-care website that I took to heart. My car had a bad case of oxidation after being banished to the PO's side yard since 1992. I decided to purchase the 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and 3M Perfect-it Show Car Liquid Wax. The first pic is right after the hand glaze was buffed out, with the hood down. The second photo is of the hood down, from a slightly different angle, after the wax. The third is with the hood up, after the glaze, and last pic is hood up after the wax. I think this is money well spent, shining up a single stage (no clear coat) finish that is older than I am!! I can't wait to drive her to work this coming week! It's supp…

Was wondering where or if anyone knew where to source the factory jdm or replica fender mirrors? Or if anyone knew of some nice alternatives? Im really diggin the fender mirrors, one reason I want to get a Z, becuase its pretty unique imo *seeing an old japanese car with fender mirrors is pretty nostalgic*. I guess Ebay is one place, but it looks pretty rare... If anyone has any part numbers, I got a friend who works at superiornissanmotorsports.com, i could see if they could carry them.

I have removed and beed blasted my door hinges to get rid of old paint and rust. Now I am ready to paint them but I don't know how to prepare them for paint. I plan to paint the entire car including jambs with BC/CC ( Original Color = 411 Sunburst Yellow 77SE). http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary http://zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/411yellow.jpg Should I prime the hinges and if so what type primer should I use. Should I BC/CC the hinges as well?
