Hi everyone I want to reinstall the rear bumper on my Z. It's been looking naked for a while now . Anyway last time I was thinking about it, I couldn't get the bolts to fit from a bolt shop. I need the 4 that go at the back and probably the ones for the side too. Do the Microfiche CD have this information or just P/N's. Can someone give me the specs for them and does anyone know if there is a bit of rubber that wedges between the mounting brackets and the car just seems like the paint would get scratched up a bit. Oh and anyone know where the best place is to get the bumper rubbers? In terms of OEM spec but no neccessarily have to be Nissan ones just a good set of A…

Hey everybody. Got around to cutting off the rusted (and I mean really rusted) frame rail on the passenger side yesterday. I think I have sourced the problem of where the water is getting in there (it's somewhere in the battery tray area) but I would like to know if anyone knows of any other places that water can get in there? The driver side frame rail is solid and I have removed a lot of the tar from the bottom and have yet to find any rust, so I will let it be. I have some Bad Dog frame rails comming in the mail soon enough so I will be ready to make things all better soon enough. Is there any modification needed to the frame rails for the fuel lines which run ri…

What would you guys like in your taillight reproductions? prices are per matched pair. I will get some clarification on whether the recess will still be in the lenses if the option to lose the reflectors is chosen. I will also see it there is an option of: USA painted and coated clear lenses at a savings from the euro cost. The last two options are seamless and as close to the oem spec of the lenses as possable-without the writing. Post any questions here. Will

No bumpers? 1 2 3 4

Anyone experienced a hassle from law enforcement about not having bumpers? I'm thinking about pulling mine off. I saw a 240 running around today without them, and it really cleaned up the overall appearance, despite the car being an obvious work in progress.

Hi. Does one of you have any experience with mouting the MSA fiberglass bumpers (50-1750 & 50-1751) on a 1974 260Z? Thanks

So i've been doing some research on this stuff and it seems prety cool. But i have some questions. First i'll explain what i'm looking for... I have a 72 240 with minimal rust. There is rust in all the comon areas (battery tray, floor, etc.) but it is only surface rust. The paint has also begain to flake off the firewall (which will eventually lead to rust). Eventually i'd like to fully restore the car (but time and money are not a factor now). I'd like to coat the rusted areas with something to protect/stop the spread until i can someday restore the car. I have no time right now to strip/sand anything. I litterally only want to spray down the rusted/exposed areas. The P…

Hello Everybody, I am in the middle of stripping down my Z at the moment and need to start thinking about a new front end (there are some parts that are damaged and the cost to replace them approaches that of a new air dam) so it's time to add a new front end to the car. :cheeky: I really like the front end in the attached photo but I have been unable to identify it. If you know where to be able to find it please let me know. Thanks for the help.

First off, I know it should be simple enough to measure out.....so no need to flame me. Just curious if anyone had ever run across a good set of floor pan templates (240z) for those who would like to cut and bend their own. I am not looking for exact replica (drain plugs, etc.).

I am looking changing my bushings and ball joints and replacing the springs and struts. Since I have the suspension taken apart I also would like to paint the parts. My goal is to do something that looks nice for the short term. I only need this to last 3-5yrs because I will be doing more extensive resto work in the future. So, I'm looking for a fairly easy way to apply the paint to the parts so that it hold and look decent for a fairly short period of time. I just finished taking everything apart and tomorrow I am going to start working on cleaning up the parts and stripping them down to the bare metal. I have the basics: a wire wheel, a few wire brushes, some degre…

UPOL primer

Has anyone used this before. My neighbor sugested using this when I do spot work instead of using typical rattle can laquer primer which I found out does not work well with urethane bc/cc system. It is also in a rattle can but he said it is more compatable , basically 2k epoxy in a can I guess. I just have a few (dozen)spots to putty and smooth out before the repaint if spring ever comes and would hate to mix a 2k epoxy then cleanup gun for spot work. It's amazing how the impefections show up once the clearcoat goes on.

I was looking at some pictures of a restored Z. Though I doubt it was painted the original color (red) it had the front of the radiator support painted black. Now I know some of the early Z's that were lighter in color (green, white, yellow) had the radiator support painted black at the factory. I was wondering which years or colors had this painted? Anyone? I'll try and find a picture to post.

Ok, So now that I have a good idea on how I am going to work on my frame rails and put on a new undercoating on my car comes the fun part of putting the car on a rotisserie. I saw this link for a different sort of rotisserie http://www.cjautos.org.uk/phdi/p1.nsf/supppages/cjautos?opendocument&part=4 Any opinons of this? Sources to buy or plans to build? Would this damage my suspension or other parts of my car? I don't plan on doing a full strip of my car (the engine will still be in it) but most of the body panels will be comming off and other stuff. Second, I know there is a guy in Houston who makes rotisserie's for z's? But I couldn't find his information. Also is…
