Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I'm from Montreal, Québec and need your help. Recently purchased a rust free Datsun 240Z 1972 from Arizona. It came with a sunroof and want it removed. I purchased a roof skin but need an experienced sheet metal body shop & a mechanic to work on my Z. Does anyone know or can suggest a great experienced body shop & mechanic in or around Montreal, Québec ? Thank you for your help.

OK stupid question probably but my car came with 918 orange. I am going to likely pull all engine items get someone to repaint it did all the body in engine area come originally painted orange? Even the body bracket the radiator bolts to?

I’m reassembling my door latch assembly. On the parts list, attached and highlighted, what is the Door Handle Baffle? I have two 1971 240Zs and neither of them have what looks like the diagram. My guess it is a bracket that goes on the inside of the door to support the handle. Does anyone know what this is?

Trying to locate the Nissan p/n for this shifter bushing. All I can find is the older style bushings for 70-78 transmissions. I have a FS5W71B close ratio from a ZX. Courtesy gave me a couple of p/n’s but we’re the older type bushings. I’ve got another order going to them and want to add the bushings. Appreciate the help!

I ran across a decent (still needs work) front fender from a 78 280Z. I would be using it on a 73 240. How well will it fit or will I have to do a lot of modifications to it? Thanks Paul

still having issues getting windows up properly. do the tracks below or the bottom of the chrome frame have any felt or rubber in them. none i have seen do just thought its worth asking.

Hi guys, I have taken out the interior of my 1977 280Z to work on some stuff and I noticed that the lower a-pillar area looks a bit weird on both sides with a black coating and a lot of seam sealer/filler. Is this original or has my car had a roof transplant at some point? I have searched for similar pictures of other Z cars and could only find blurry ones but I did see black paint in the same location on other cars as well. Also do you think the gold the original color of my car? Thanks! Reinier

After a two year break I am going back to work on my 73. I knew the quarter was messed up and removed the 3 or so inches of body filler. I'm a decent welder but a rookie body man. I need to take care of this final issue and I think I know the answer but scary stuff when the rest of the car is so nice and time invested. Should I take the whole quarter and replace it with the spare quarter I have. The dogleg is in bad shape and I have already replaced it on the car so I assume I'd pick a spot cut and weld. This seems like the scary logical choice although I did take the quarter off a donor car so I know what it takes. Or should I used the butchered quar…

I have a method of finding where exhaust fumes can enter in the rear of the Z. Sorry if this was discussed already but it’s easy and something you can do with supplies you already have. Took my large LED shop lamp and put it in the hatch area and moved it to where I was focusing on. Then turned off all the garage lights. You can see even the smallest pinholes with this method. Then sealed them up with body sealer. A smaller light might be better to fit in different areas but you get the point. I was amazed at all the little holes I could find in seams and rubber boots. Especially useful in the areas between the rear deck and the quarter panel. Sent …

I picked up "1973" emissions decals for the underside of my hood. They look a lot like my 1972 decals, but a bit different than whats under hood on the '73. As it turns out there was a change late '73. Has anyone been able to source late '73 stickers? Sent from my SM-G981W using Tapatalk

Getting setup for some winter projects for my 1977 280z including a deep clean on the engine bay since the last owner left a lot of grease build up and cosmoline. I have a number of places, usually near welds and seams, where I have small pockets of surface rust like shown in the picture (usual Datsun rust issues 😕 ) . Anyone have any advice for the best way to remove this and stop it from coming back? I am planning to repaint the car between 2021 and 2022 which will include engine bay paint, but want to at least stop the progress of the rust between now and when I can give it a more thorough blasting. I have used naval jelly before on parts outside of the vehicle…
