I will soon begin the process of sanding the body of my 75 280z. I have a few questions: how can I determine if the paint has lead in it? I have heard stories of lead poisoning and I believe the dust from sanding may not be a good thing landing on toys, bikes, etc. My car has all the Datsun badging intact and in decent condition. How do I remove them without breaking them and where/how can I get them redone like they came from the factory? Thanks.

Hi guys This is a center front valence, it does not fit 240 or early 260z. It's approx 31" long. Cheers.

Before anything else, I know. Give me grief later, I give myself enough. Here is my car. I am planning on the rebuild but I don't know if I need a body or not. I think the roof is the worst, and I don't know if I can fix those dents. Suggestions? I plan on stripping down to bare metal on the car to start. More pics???

Hey guys, back at it. Haven't touched the Z in awhile, but couldn't do anymore paperwork for the man and jacked the Z up again. Quick one, how do I remove the inner rear fender liners. They are in good shape but I would like to remove them, hit the area with some media and POR it. Looks like the seam around the shock tower is spot welds but what is the best way to separate the fender lip area. Thanks, feels good to get dirty again!!

I was looking the '71 240Z over last night and I noticed the PO bought a new upper hatch weather strip but didn't install it. I took a look at installing it last night. Must the hatch be removed to install this piece? I could not seem to get it to fit under the hatch hinges....

Does anyone know if these is a lateral curve to the front fender? What I mean is, if you were to remove the front bumper, flip it upside down and lay it on a flat surface, would both end pieces be touching the ground? I have a feeling mine is bent, it just doesnt look "right" http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=15073 there are a few other angles in the my gallery.

So im in the parking lot at school one day about to back out when this girl in the parking space behind me backs out. She keeps coming and coming and ends up backing into the side of my car. I get out just in time to watch her speed off. I get the tag # and report it to the school "police" Needless to say they do noting about it and how I am left to deal with this on my own since i only have liability insurance on the car. Now i need to find a way to get this fixed. Would it be best to take it to a body shop and have them do it, Bang it out with a hammer and bondo it? If you can see in the photo, there was some rust in there that cracked when she hit it, so that ma…

I am cleaning up my '71 Z tail light assy's and noticed that the driver lenses are much darker then the passenger lenses. Is this due to age or have they changed their lenses with newer light assy? I think the passenger T/L lense has been changed. I like the newer lenses. Can I get lighter lenses or do you have to buy the complete assy?
