Hello, all I just got a clean 260Z body shell, it has been sitting in someone's garage for a while since it was repaired. It still has some spotty surface rust here and there, usually covering large areas but never deep. My plan is to use this shell and transplant my 280Z parts into it. Here's what I am trying to find out : Body & Engine bay : What to do with the surface rust? Bottom : What kind of undercoat for the bottom? Can undercoat be sprayed right over slight surface rust at the bottom? Or do I have to remove rust before applying undercoat as well? Anything else? Thanks in advance

Was wondering what the correct color for the rear tail light panel on a 1970 240? I know that its black but not sure semi-gloss,, glossy, matte finish etc. If anyone has a paint code or formula for the correct shade of gloss I'd appreciate it? Thanks guys!

but I am getting ready to prep and paint the undercarriage of my car, and need some expertise. What are the proper paint colors for the floorpans, wheelwells, suspension parts? I apologize, but I don't know of any restored Zs nearby I can use as a guide. I figure I will paint the suspension parts flat black (POR Chassis Black), clearcoat the brake calipers, and put a flat black finish on the floorpans and wheelwells (POR-15). The exhaust will remain unpainted. Any suggestions? Thanks, X

Found this on e-bay and thought it was a weird way of repairing the frame rails. Notice the notches. And is he just covering up the old rusted metal? What do you guys think?

Well I was on the fourth(final) coat of clear and dirt or somthing got on the door. So stupidly I try to fix it. Needless to say it's back to primer. In the process I knocked the shop light into the perfect rear quarter panel but looks to only have gotten the clear. ? is can I scuff the rear quarter with ?1500 grit and re-shoot clear , or is that one going back to primer also?

Ok, spent the best part of Sunday degreasing, scouring, wire brushing and painting my solid brake/fuel lines and all the associated metal brackets, I think this is now bordering on eccentric as I knew full well the would be fine in their oxidised slightly rusted form, but I just couldn't bare to put any sign of rust onto my nice clean car.

you can see from the picture how my mirror shifts a little back and forth and leave these ugly scratches in my paint. i tried tightening it as much as possible but it doesnt seem to help. i was thinking of going around the perimeterof the mirror with rubber cement or hot glue but i dont want it to look cheap or anything. do you guys have any ideas? i was also thinking of cutting out a kind of spacer or gasket out of some thin rubber. does anyone else have this problem?
