Would these bumper guards fit a 73 bumper? I know there was some slight changes to the bumper brackets and bumpers starting in 73 but did it effect the bumper guards? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2485651554&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT thanks, Greg

I called Sal at MSA yesterday and I am glad I waited to order the Precision 19 piece weatherstrip kit for my '78 280Z coupe. MSA has them on sale for $159.95. Awesome price. We'll be painting the Z soon! Also picked up some OEM door sill plates, fuse box cover. Now I am looking for the chrome T/L surrounds either redone or used in excellent shape.

Were the door ding strips factory installed or after market items? In other posts I saw that some were screwed right into the sheet metal and others were glued. My assumption is the glued ones were after market or dealer addons . Is this correct?

Trying to get this badge off the B pillar but it won't budge. I don't want to force it cause it just tells me it wants to break in half. What's the catch?

Am attempting to replace the rear hatch rubber seal, with a replacement from Victoria/British . Have figured out how it attaches, but the top portion that is like near the hinges is troublesome. Does the plastic interior trim pieces need to be removed, so the lower rubber lip of the new seal can be positioned under the plastic interior trim?? Is it necessary, or can that portion of the seal be trimmed? BTW - Also installed the drivers door weatherstrip from V/B , it installed OK, looks OK , but is too thick, which requires the door to be slammed to latch :disappoin 75-280,Tokico, Monza,"pushed in bumper",78 5-spd

3 miles from home, just now, coming back from work. It was bumper to bumper traffic but somehow the guy who caused all of this must have been going pretty fast (I don't know how...) His Civic totalled itself into the back of an older Jeep Cherokee which is probably also going to the crusher after this which then hit a Cutlass which then hit me... Thank god for the Cutlass' ultra soft shocks, cause just before he hit me he must obviously have slammed his brakes cause his nose dove down and basically only wrecked my rear bumper and slightly pushed in the lower valance behind it... The japanese tail lights I brought back two years ago were spared... no buckling in the C pil…

This is weird or is it? I can only lock the doors on the 72 from the outside with the key. Sitting inside the car with the doors closed I can push the lock down, I'm locked in, no problem. Open the door, get out, push the lock down, shut the door, it will not lock. Is this something Nissan did on these Factory cars to prevent num skulls from locking their keys in the car? My 78 was not like that as I've locked the keys in that Z many times. The 77 I haven't tried yet because I don't have an extra set of keys (and I don't what to go through the hatch) to try this experiment. Anyone else have a 240Z that does this? Vicky

My 77 is orange underneath the metallic green. I have never in my life seen an orange 280. Door sills, behind panels--all the places of an original colour. Anyone else? Could the orange be a second coat? steve

Quick poll: How much paint (after being reduced) did it take you to do an all-over HVLP job? 2 quarts? 3 quarts? a gallon? more than a gallon?
