I own a 260z and and the only thing that I don't like on them is the rear lights in comparison to the 240z. I've taken the rear tail lights and panels off on a number of occasions and noticed that there would be some cutting involved to mount the 240 tail lights. Has anybody here attempted this? Dreaded exhaust fumes are one of the worries I have in regards to this conversion. Cheers Sulio!

I finally had a chance to get underneath my car that I want to work on and found that the evil rust monster has taken up most of the passenger side of the car. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me with the 78 Z car chassis.. how much is too much rust that would make it unrepairable.. also is there a good book on repairing Unibodies out there that may point me in the right direction before I start down a road I can not pass? I will post some of the pictures later on to show what it looks like.

I have a 76 280 that has had the nose, in front of the shock towers pushed to one side (the previous owner hit a guy wire for a power pole) I need the measurement center to center for the front bumper mounts, and maybe a cross measurement from the firewall to the core support. any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm getting the undercarrage coated with bedliner pretty soon. Mostly the areas where the original undercoating was. I was contemplating covering the drain holes only in the floor pans and having the undercoating seal the holes. I never plan on driving my car in the rain or take it into a lake. With the popularity of shop vacs now a days. I was wondering if these drain holes are really that practical. I have five in my floor and rust seems to love these areas. Any comments? Should they stay or go?

I am interested in a BRE front spock for my car.. but I noticed that every car I have seen with one on is a 240Z. Since the front lower valence of the stock 280Z is longer and lower to the ground, and the 240Z's were shorter and had the turn signal's in the valence.. how would it fit on a 280Z? (NOTE : the 240Z center valence, right corner valence and left corner valence are shorter and smaller than the 280Z ) Will it fit onto a 280Z smoothly?! Thanks

Here's one for you (more of a story than anything) Anyone had the bonnet release cable snap on them. Mine did yesterday at 07:30 in the morning as I was due to go to a race meet Ahhhhhhh It snapped right at the nipple on the bonnet catch (didn’t know it at the time). Conundrum: how on earth do you get the bonnet open if that happens? Answer:- Jack the car up, crawl underneath, reach your hand up on the starter motor side, underneath the catch mounting bracket there is a hole (bout 1.5") if you have long relatively slim arms you can just get you finger into the hole and operate the catch. Has to be the most frustrating thing that has happened to me so far, …

I need to remove the exterior door handles from my 1977Z and do not see where they disconnect. The bolts are off along with the inside panel ,but where the rod comes down to the latch mechanism is where I am stuck. I don't want to break any small parts. Thanks.

I came across car number 000144 ( 1969 Fairlady) that is going to need some body work. My problem is its right hand drive and needs the frame rail under the battery replaced. Does anyone know if the right hand/ left hand drive frames rails inter change? Everything else is in place but has been sitting and needs a complete resto. I sure Im going to have to find a doner or start fabricating.

I searched, but if this has been asked before, please delete this thread. How much POR-15 should I expect to use? I'm getting paid on Friday and am buying all my stripping/POR-15 supplies, as on Saturday the fun begins. I will be doing the entire car (underbody, exterior, maybe even the interior if I get motivated). As I've never used it before, I don't know how much to buy, and I'd rather buy it all at one time. Thanks in advance!
