Hi I am new to this message board so this question has probably asked but here it goes. I own a 77 280z and it is painted black. So I know that the first black Z did not come out until 78. I am going to restore it and I kind of wanted to paint it the original color. The paint tag had some black over spray on it, but I can still easily read the number. It is 216. I searched the net and found all kinds of paint codes for 240/60/80’s, just not that one. I then found a webpage that sold touch up paint that had a searchable data base. I just put in the code and it came up with Datsun Polar White. I am just wondering if anyone out there can confirm this? Any help would be gre…

Well..take a good look at my car... do you know the paint code? If you do... please feel free to tell me. I cant read japanese... so i really dont know what my paint code is. I think this color is the same for all "blue" Zs. Please help

not sure if this has been pointed out here before or not. i just notieced that i've got 2 different 240Z grills. not sure which are for what year, but i suspect the top one is for the '73s because i've got 2 of them like that and i've had 2 '73s. mounting points are different

Hey guys, i would like to paint my underbody black when i am finished welding the hole in it. I cant seem to find any threads about painting it. Do i use the same procedure as painting the panels? what do i use as a finish when im done? Thanks.

Hey guys, i was just checking and chisling all of my underbody rust out, i checked everwhere and my passenger side floor panel busted open when i hit it! i can see the thing that goes below the carpet, the hole is about as big as a fist. I got all of the rust and weak areas out, so what do i do now? how should i fix it??

I'm out of ideas!! I have replaced the hatch glass seal, the outter hatch seal and the inner hatch seal, the fresh air vent in the hatch (series 1 car) and yet I STILL have a water leak!!! :mad: :tapemouth What can I do!?

My paint color! My 1972 240z has a STUPENDOUS spray-can yellow paint job, and it just has to go. I'll be replacing the floorpans, having a new lower rear panel put on, and replacing the rear bumper...so hell, why not add a coat of nice, shiny paint. Cast your votes!!!

Recently became the proud owner of a Silver 1981 280ZXt (queue applause). The car overall is in great shape, MOST of the paint still has a nice clear coat to it and the glass and all seals still work well (no leaks). The engine still runs really well, the turbo spools up nicely, does not overheat even idling in traffic here in the Florida sun, and no leaks underneath the engine. Suffice to say, I love this car. The Ac still works, the cruise, cabin light, maplight, and all other little accessories still function well. The problem I have with her is the typical rust i have read about here on the forum. The door bottoms and rocker panels are rusted pretty bad, and the hatch…

hello all i was wondering if anyone knew the difference between these seals vs weatherstrips** msa list both so do i need to get the seals along with the weatherstrips ? I installed the weatherstrip around both doors already and i am still getting a little leakage on the driver side so am i missing these door seals ? thanks guys peter

Hi guys, I need new floor pans for my z and about 10 inches of frame rail where the rail stops on the end of the floor pan. I know the zed findings place has good stuff, but was wondering if anyone had just taken some sheetmetal and made them. I now have a lot of experience welding and all other types of metal work. I just wondered if anyone had done this. If so : what thickness sheetmetal? bend it/size it? and how much money saved? I know the kits at Zedfindings.com are like 250 or something + shipping:mad:. Also what would the structural benefits or losses be to this? Thanks
