I borrowed this picture from @motorman7 in his Orange thread. (thanks Rich..) I am helping my neighbor with has series 1 240z restoration. The reinforcement flat plate welded on the rear area of the floor pan, there is one on the driver side of his car but not on the pass side. Is there supposed to be both and what is the purpose, is it just reinforcement?

I'd like to find a complete description of how the underside of a 240Z (floors, inner fenders, components, etc.) was finished from the factory. I have to believe there must be a post on here somewhere, but I have searched on a number of topic descriptions to no available. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Photo attached for clarification. The reflective coating inside one of my turn signal lenses has rusted to the point that it is not functional. What would be an effective way to restore this?

http://www.alfaparts.net/dat280.html His Datsun panel selection is still small but he plans on offering more. Not great photos on his site but the detail looks crisper than Tabco products.

Hello all, I have a 1973 240z. The front main seal was leaking and made a bit of a mess under hood. I pulled the engine a while back to reseal the engine a long time ago, and am now just getting back to it. I removed the heavier grease buildup back then, but now I want to cleanup the rest of the grease and grime. (See picture.) However, I do not want to damage the paint, the wire harnesses, or any other components. Does anyone have any recommendations for a cleaner that would be safe? (Eg Simple Green Crystal, or Purple Industrial Cleaner, D108) Any preferred techniques for cleaning it? Thanks! Luis

5/71 240z. The wiper arm marked "761 TRICO LD100-L" has failed, where the plastic connects to the blade, and must be replaced. The other wiper arm is marked "621 TRICO LA87R". Should I be looking for a "621 TRICO LA87L"? The wiper arms on my 72 240 are marked "408 TRICO 55-R" and "409 TRICO 55-L". Didn't find posts on this topic, after doing a search. Thanks

I purchased a can of spray paint from a vendor that was supposed to be a exact match for the taillight panel but it seems to be too light, more of a "battleship grey" than the correct "charcoal grey" . Does anyone have a source for the correct color paint? Also I need to touch up the grey panels on an original set of wheel covers. Does anyone have a source for that color?

Hello, I have recently acquired new doors to put onto my 1978 280z, but the rails for the window area do not fit on my car. The rest of the door fit fine, just not the metal part on the top. Does anyone know if these rails are adjustable in any way or do i maybe have the wrong door? I have a feeling that i have a 2+2 door but i am not 100% sure. I've read that 2+2 doors are longer so it doesn't make any sense to me how I got it on in the first place if it is indeed a 2+2 door. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been slowly getting my 260z to a condition where i can just hop in and start driving it around. One thing that has been bothering me since i got the car is the amount of noise that enters the cabin. While i understand that these are not modern cars I've been trying to do what i can to reduce road noise. So far I've done, Sound deadening on : Doors, Boot, firewall(interior), Transmission tunnel, floor pans, under seat (drivers side), inside quarter panels, inside spare tub. Weather stripping: doors + window felt. Interior: Extra padding under the mats. I feel like the majority of the sounds that come from the car are wind noises. (esp at freeway s…

So, today I did a swap to a stock-color tail light panel on my 1971 240z. I was able to pick up a great restored panel from our classifieds and now I have one of each color. Since my panel was installed with plastic rivets (just for this occasion) it was a 20 minute swap. When I had my car painted yellow, quite a long time ago, I asked the guys to paint the tail light panel the same color as the body. I knew it never looked right, but, it was something I wanted at the time. Now that I'm a bit older, I wanted to see what a stock color would look like. Here's the difference. What do you think?
