Nuts & bolts preservation

While taking apart my rear bumper I noticed most of the bolts were rusted pretty bad. Now the bumper is going to the platers to get a new finish. But what do I do with the bolts? If I plate those will I have to chase the threads? Or should I try and find new bolts that have some kind of plating already on them?

Was driving on some muddy roads yesterday and noticed that splashes were getting into engine compartment up on the inner fenders, etc. Did 240s come with any metal splash guards underneath the front suspension and engine compartment? Thanks, Victor.

Hey everyone, Does anyone know where i can find the European Turn Signals which fit in the grill, not the bumper. Sorry about the picture quality below, but you can kind of see the signals in the grill. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Holes in floor pan rails

I am not very familiar with 240 body part terminology, so I'll try to describe adequately. There are several open holes on the raised rectangular tubes running longitudinally along the underside of the floor pan. Are these holes(approximately 1/2 inch diameter) supposed to be open(for drainage?) or should they have a plug in them? These are not the larger floor pan holes with the rubber plugs that are on the flat surface of the floor pan. Thanks, Victor.

Hey 1moeZ, hope ya don't mindi linked this to what you posted, only thing i can see that is near what i got going on here. The car looked great when it got here, supposedly "rust free" and "dent free" and "running great," but this was not the case. I'm a little short on time, so I cant give a full explanation of all the things I found wrong with it, but I will post more when I get home later tonight. One of the things that concerned me the most was the deformation of the drivers side frame rail, so I am attaching that picture right now. What do you guys think about it? I'm doing my first Z restoration. I removed the front and rear suspension and fuel tank. There is no rust underneith the car except for some minor surface specks close to the rear bumber mount. Can I just wash it and call it good OR do I need to strip the entire undercoating /paint, then repaint and reundercoat?
