Just thinking out the sound system and wondering how it works out having speakers in the doors. We (the wife & I) have a 1972 240... mostly stock. Would hate to cut holes in (relatively) nice door panels just to find out that I hate 'em there. Planning on the rear speaker panel from MSA or custom building something similar that could also house a disc changer. It'd be nice to have four speakers Any advice appreciated. Regards, 'Fink

Had a friend come by with a 72 Z. He was bummed because his drivers side door lock cylinder was worn and difficult to open.He had priced the lock sets and didn't want to have one key for the door and one for the ignition and rear hatch.I switched the lock cylinder with the passenger side as it was like new.How many times do you use that one?Another satisfied customer! Have fun!! Daniel

Many have posted about the little pins for the plastic panel rivets used to hold these things in place. Replacing the rivets is ONE solution, finding the pin is another. Unfortunately with a ton of good intentions we look into it and find the task to be easier said than done. Since I was being extremely cheap (i.e. tightwad) I was unwilling to let the pins be swallowed up by the car. So I came up with the following procedure which in turn prompted me to post this here, it is a solution to the problem of the pins but it also results in taking a step towards preventing RUST. So now that I have your attention, read on. My initial intent was to recover the pins from the ne…

Well, as my project gets closer to winding down, I'm now faced with finally having to order all the window and door rubber seals. I know Motorsports and V.B. both sell rubber seal kits. I don't have any problems paying for them. But I seem to remember a thread somewhere about using the kits for a 280Z on the 240's because the seals fit better. Anybody have any suggestions? Who has been there and done that? Victoria British has three kits kisted: 240 70-73 260-280 74-6/75 280 7/75-78 I have a Series I, 1971 240Z. And I need all the rubber seals! I'm looking for suggestions here since my budget is limited and I'd hate to spend the money to fin…

Just started "shaving" the doors on the `72 project Z. I'll be installing remote openers with door poppers for keyless entry. Will happily post the process if anyone is interested... errr... this is assuming that I can make it work. If anyone has any caveats, I'd appreciate the heads-up. L8-r 'Fink

Howdy folks, Anybody know for sure if the series I or series II 240Z's came with insulation under the hatch carpet? I am checking this for a Z bud that hasn't made it to this site yet, but I am pointing him in the right direction. Mine was replaced with aftermarket carpet so long ago that I don't remember. The microfiche doesn't show any part number for the early cars so I am thinking there wasn't any! Thanks!

First post. I have a set of wheels that I had bead-blasted to remove paint & grime. My question is: Do I need to cover the wheels with some sort of clear coat. They seem to get dirt and finger prints rather easy. Any help would be appreciated.

G'day, I've owned my 2 seater 260Z for two years now and I don't think I can live with the 260Z tail lights any longer. I reckon 240Z ones look much better . A: Does anybody know if the 240Z taillights and surround will fit a 260Z? B: Does anyone have/know where I can get the tailights and surround? (In Australia preferably ) Thanks
