Does anyone have the paint code for the turquoise that is used on the 280z air box or know of a pre made rattle can paint that is a close match? The paint condition of the top half of the air box is almost good enough not to bother but the lower half really needs a new coat. Thanks

Hey guys, so I posted originally about these in my rusthole thread. Ive found these pictures today and want some z enthusiast responses before I decide my route. I was going to do my best to re create the air horns that go over the wheels but it WILL suck. This guys has cut them off and sheeted it in which add rigidity in the vertical load plane but will it cause weakness that one should consider in the lateral plane? This would be the easy way out, And yes I understand these are the fresh ait vents on this year of car but Im not picky about it either way. windows down will be drafty enough. Thoughts

I am trying to find a stock looking mirror with a larger base to cover some holes for aftermarket mirrors. I really like the ones from msa which are in photos below. However the base is not long enough to cover one of the holes. Anyone have idea where to get ones that look close. I'm interested in MSA's Z Flare kit. Has anyone on here used this kit? I want the ZG flare look but don't want to cut up my perfect metal fenders.

It seems like most pix postings here are Mexican Orange, 918, including my 73. I wonder what percentage of Z's from the early 70's era were orange? maybe that color survived the best. So far I've found that ppg deltron has that color in their list. Any others?

After crawling around under the 73z I can see that the floor pans and the rails up to the firewall need to be replaced. The engine bay and firewall are ok but I need the stuff from the firewall to the rear. It is pocked with rusted out holes. The problem is that the an undercoat had been applied to the car when it was new and that provided a means to trap water leading to rust. So rather than cleaning up the engine bay and putting the motor and tranny back in I need to bite the bullet and replace the floor pan. Any recommendations where to get that stuff?

I'm putting a 240 mirror on a door skin that currently has no holes in it. How far from from the leading edge of the door should the mirror be or what is the distance to the centers of the mounting holes.

I just removed that panel below the windshield where the wipers come out. I noticed some kind of foam on the inside edges. Does anyone know what that stuff was for or what I should replace it with? I've decided to do a diy paint job on my 73 240 that I've had since 76. It has been repainted once like 20 years ago. For the moment I'm focussed on the engine bay. The motor is out and there's some rust spots that need attention. Then repaint the engine bay to 918 color, put the engine back in and then work on the exterior. After a few phone calls I got the best response from PPG. They had 918 in their system. Sherwin williams wouldn't talk to me and said they didn't go that far back. I'd like to start off small by stopping the rust right away. Pointers to diy docs would be appreciated.

Greeting fellow Zed heads. Can anyone tell me how S30 frames were attached to the unibody in the factory? Were they integrated inside of the unibody pieces, or simply welded on after the fact? I've looked at a ton of pictures and search the forums, and I can't find any info. Does anyone know?
