I swear, I did search but found nothing recent that appears applicable. Has anyone found a suitable replacement RUBBER piece that attaches to the stainless strip on the outside of the door to seal the windows? My stainless strips are in good condition and I'd rather not pay $80.00 per side just for some new rubber. I know it has been discussed in the past, but has anyone here recently dealt with this? Thanks.

Anyone have experience with the repro belt moldings (chrome parts at the top of the door with the squeegee). The NOS ones are around $400 now but I'm wondering if the new ones are any good.

I tried to install my 240Z's windshield for 5 hours straight and it didnt fit. We used the rope as instructed in manual. Upper part of the windshield weatherstrip fits ok but when we get to lower part, glass is almost 1cm off from metal. Window fits right without weatherstrip I suspect that reason for this is aftermarket weatherstrip, i just recently bought them and while installing hatch glass i noticed that something was not right. The chrome moulding installation was a hard one! And those mouldings literally sink inside the strip, and as i compared some pieces of old hatch strip, its different. In old one chrome is more visible. But please help, will i try to install t…

My 78 280z has the stock bumper that I'd like to convert to a sleeker air dam. The problem I'm running into, however, is that the air dam I want (the Kaminari) only fits the 240/260. I think modifying it, and switching the parking lights will be a pain in the arse. So I'm instead considering the MSA type 3 with the grill, but it looks hit or miss in the photos (some looks angular and aggressive, others look rounded and 90s-sequences.) Do anyone have either mounted they can share pics of? Or does recommend one of the other for a 280z? Also open to other solutions and air dam types. Just not a fan of those big arse bumpers! Thanks! Has anyone built or seen plans for build a cart for painting and sandblasting underneath the body. I have the car lifted and stripped, was going to blast and paint in garage but wife is stressing that I came build a spray booth well enough to not destroy the house . Do was thinking about building a frame on wheels so I could push to the driveway. Any idea or help would be greatly appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Classic Zcar Club mobile

When painting my 71, I took a blunt object and pushed the weatherstrip back towards the interior of the car. It took a few tries but it stuck back. I put tape over it, which helped hold it back. It will give it a much nicer appearance. Only 2/3 or so would stay back. But it was no problem. Easier to sand and polish

Trying to refurbish the hood louvers. White ABS plastic ? showing through on about 60% of the surface. Also the original car color underneath some black. Assuming the louvers were originally the same color as the car and someone repainted them black? I did not find a whole lot of answers in the search mode here and basically I want to safely strip the louvers and then refinish them in a satin black finish. Looking for input on stripping and best refinishing process. Can those louvers be powdercoated? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Resurrection process is slowly advancing. Really enjoying the process, John-Lugoff, SC.

The wiper arms on my 77 are unpainted silver (stainless?), but the blade holders are black. I believe the blade holders are original (the two metal bar torsion spring style). They are metal, but painted or anodized black. Anyone know what the 77 wiper arms and blade holders should look like? Should everything be black? Should everything be silver? Or is correct to have silver arms and black blade holders?

I need some of the resident experts to give me some pointers on car wax. what do you use? Do you like it? In the past I have always used paste waxes, many of which have abrasives in them. Is that the way to go? I don't like them for the reason if you get them on to rubber it can be difficult to get the hazing back off the rubber. Liquid waxes???

I just bought this 77 280z and have been trying to figure out if the paint and the strips in particular are original. I was told the paint was original (and it looks it) but I have yet to find a 77 280z with the same stripes. I have a feeling the stripes are after market but unsure. Any thoughts or insight would be much appreciated.

Ran across this today. I couldn't find whole quarters from tabco so i googled and found these. http://www.rhdjapan.com/marugen-shoukai-rear-quarter-panel-set-nissan-fairlady-z-s30-s31.html These are made in Japan so quality should be good. Only problem is they're made for the fairladys smaller bumpers. Perhaps no problem for the 240z's but the 280z need work to fit bigger bumpers. The S31 quarters would be for the 260-280z style tail lights. They sell them as a set. At current exchange rates that 346 usd each. Thats before shipping however. Thought i'de pass this along since aftermarket suppliers on these old rust buckets are drying up. They sell new whole d…
