Does anyone know where to source this front valance for my 1971 240z? Were they made of fiberglass back then? or urethane? I'm interested in keeping it as classic looking as possible by avoiding the big motorsports lips....any help would be appreciated.

Will i be able to find this exact color or should i strive for an upgrade in White keeping the classic look? What else will i need? http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/

So on Friday I sent emails to about 7 car restorers and body shops in northeast New Jersey to get informations so I can choose a shop. These places ranged from auto body shops that do new cars and collision repair to antique car restorers that specialize in porsches and American midcentury stuff. So far everyone is refusing to give me an estimate, even ballpark, which I kind of understand but kind of don't I work in a field that is prone to scope creep and schedule slips due to unforeseen issues (digital experience design), so I get that people don't want to get locked into estimates that are wilding out of line, but I also know that once you've done similar proj…

Hey everyone, I just got done watching an episode on the development of the 240Z on the Moto-Man YouTube Channel, which includes an interview with the designer. One of the things in the video is the rear hatch strut shock absorber, and I noticed the one in the video seems to lift on its own (see the 14 minute mark) and I realized mine has never done that. The shock absorber does hold the hatch open, but I have to pull it up. Maybe I need a new one? MSA has them (http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic02o03b01/30-8303) though they seem kind of expensive ($49). Has anyone tried these or other solutions? You can watch the video yourself, her…

Good evening, can anyone tell me what the pocket (notch) is for in the 240z floor pan in front of the seats along the rocker? I have seen this on most floor pan kits and a couple that don't have it. I have a series one and two. The both have the pocket, but I do not see what purpose it serves. Please let me know. Thanks, Scooter

Does anyone know where to locate parts for the 240z body kits for Zisizit of Nevada, any brochures or information. The company was in business from 1989 and 1990. They were located in Las Vegas Nevada. The body molds were sold to Dave at Arizona Z which he sold 15 years ago and does not know where they went from there. I'm specifically looking for the hood and leather door panels.

Hi, could someone tell me the bolt size for the front fender to the body. It's a 10mm head and I think 6mm bolt. Fine threads?? I'm having a little trouble sourcing them. Any help is appreciated. My original hardware is pretty rusty and I'd rather replace it than get into tumbling and zinc plating them if I can help it.

Hi guys, Im having some trouble deciding what to do with this situation. The pictures I have attached are of the inside of the A pillars LH and RH side. As you can see not much rust there Only minor surface rust, but this area is not easy to reach, so im down to two options: 1. Use light and penetrating oil as rust inhibitor with long slim hose - possible to clean the outside up if it runs. 2. Use the long slim hose with a spraypaint - not sure of how that would end up? I worry that the paint way will run on the the pretty yellow paint, which would be a shame. But ill definitly hav…

Tear down continues slowly on my resurrection project on this 280Z 2+2 that had been left to sit for 19 years. The headlight buckets looked pretty decent-some surface rusting- until I removed them from the fenders and front side valances. The mounting lips where the valances attach on the headlight buckets are badly rotted. Surprised everything was still attached and in alignment. Any repair tips for when we begin to restore all the parts and pieces? Also found a few rust through spots on the front radiator support. Most of the support looks good except for the few rotted sections. I will get a better idea after all the rest of the parts are removed and have the shell di…
