I've been e-mailing with John Washington at Reaction Research and he's going to make my bumpers for me for a good price. I'll be sure and let everyone know how things turn out. Reaction Research Automotive

I have done some minor rock chip repair, sanding, POR15 on the front lower valance and bottom of the fenders. My car is 110 red, which is really persimmon - orange, does anyone have experience with the color match from automotivetouchup.com? For 1977, they do not show 110, but they do for the 72 & 73 240. I suppose I could call them. 9

GVWR for my early 260z (with Factory a/c is listed at 3010lbs - figure ~ 2700lbs curb). I would like to get her a little lighter. I will start with the low hanging fruit - a/c is in-effective so I'm going to start with removing that. I figure the compressor alone must weigh ~ 30lbs ! any other suggestions ?

I've been trying to find out what the seal/rubber for the window in the picture is called, maybe it is a part of the regular weatherstrip kit but what is it called? Can someone help me with the correct name for this seal? Also need the same seal for the quarter windows.

I actually have a pair of NOS bumper guard strips for my 240z. However I am hesitant to use them since the last pair that sold on Ebay went for $250 and the left side has been NLA from Nissan for sometime. Since I have a mint pair I would like to use them as a pattern to make some more. Has anyone ever done this? From a concept stand point I think I would need two layers of rubber and either find or flatten the heads of some small bolts and sandwich the bolt heads in between the rubber strips. If anyone has any experience trying this I would love to hear about it. Thanks!

Hey fellas. Has anybody of you guys tried to use a car wash (the tunel type) with a bolted on aluminum window louver on his Zcar? Do they last or will they get damaged? Greetings from the other side of the big water.

After 3 years away from my project due to kids going to college and family obligations, I got back to my 78 280z the only thing I have done so far welded floors and remove gas tank and had it open boil and clean out and they also fix a dent on the tank. I wasn't totally away from my project but getting electricity to my barn and lights while not working on my car was important. Also found 2 front fenders in a junk yard (you pull the parts yourself) for $100 they where and alot better shape than mine. So my plans are to start working on the body and get it done before the snow flies. Here are some pictures..... Any advice is welcome.. .......Juan....

My driver side door lock has been getting progressively worse at unlocking the door over the past 6 months, so I decided to try the "coat hanger elbow modification." About 1 in every 3 times I had to get in and unlock the door from the rear hatch. Seemed to happen mostly if it was colder outside vs warm. Cannot use the passenger side door for entry as the key lock was missing its elbow that connects to the door latch mechanism since I have had the car. If anyone had one for the passenger side, let me know. Removed the lock on the driver side door, removed the elbow, (which was barely moving with the key turning) carefully drilled the hole for the coat hanger wire, re-i…

Hi, I try to put back my head light to the fender and I realize I lost my screw for putting headlight to fender. Datsun 240Z/260Z/280Z Head Lamp Based on there, it called SCREW-ADJUSTING. Part # 26022-01301. Does anyone know the size of screw? I don't want to pay $1 more for each screw. Thanks, tamo3

I'm doing the bodywork on my 260, finally got around to the rear. The lower valance panel has a factory hole on the left side, directly below the reverse light, app. 5" x 1 1/2" I'm curious what is the function of this hole? My 240 has no hole & in the dim recesses of my memory, it seems as if 280s had more than one. Also, I want to clean up the area behind the bumper & put 240 bumpers on it eventually, What is the best method of filling the recessed area, behind the bumper, that is dotted with welds & holes. Seal it up & weld a piece over it or fill it with a fiberglass product. I'm thinking layers of mat and cloth or stranded jelly. I'm open to any su…
