Is there an accepted way for rust proofing hidden areas like the inside of frame rails, etc? To give an example, I am replacing my floor pans and the associated frame rails. The rails came tack welded to the floor pan. I don't want to take them off to paint the insides, besides welding them back on would burn the paint off. I know you can get weldable primer, but I'm not sure how much I like it. In my limited experience bare metal welds better (go figure). Anyway the frame rails are bare metal inside and I just can't bear the thought of doing all this work just to have it rust away again in 10 years.

Hi guys! I bought my yellow '70 240z a few weeks ago and went straight onto changing all the bushings to urethane and fixing brakes and stuff to get it ready for registration here in norway. A couple of days ago I was working on putting the front suspension back together when I noticed that everything was very hard to get into place on the left side, but on the right side it went straight on without a hassle. I began to inspect the frame rails and from the top I can see that the left frame rail is bent like a banana inwards. On the left side it looks like it is bent a little outwards just where the subframe bolt are:ermm: I took some cross measurements with a friend…

My 240Z grill is kind of beat up, beyond my skills to straighten - I tried. Would like to make a mesh grill like the Fairlady JDM or Z432's. Doesn't have to be perfect - not a show car - just nice looking and functional. Should look fairly close to the stock mesh. Want it to fit closer to the lower valence than stock so rocks can't go under and hit the radiator. Don't need the metal border like the stock ones, as long as the edge of the mesh isn't (easily) visible. I'll probably use parts of my old grill as a base for mounting it. I'd rather have aluminum than steel to save weight. Saw a plastic one at a car show that looked OK, at least for now, but I don't know. It n…

Hey, What is the size of the bolts that hold the bumper brackets (the spacer between body and the bumper) on? The body shop is FINALLY making an effort to work on the car and I don't know if they have the bumper bolts. Are they 10mm or 8mm or something else???? Thanks. carl

I need to replace the weather strip molding along the outside of my side windows. Its stapled to the stainless steel trim. After I take the old ones off, what's the best way to attach the new ones? I'm not sure how I'd get staples back in the original holes and curled over on the inside. Is there a good all-weather adhesive I could use or does someone have another suggestion for attaching the new molding? Thanks Gary

I am looking for some mirrors simular to what MSA (attached pic) sells but made of metal. All I have found locally is made of plastic and feels cheap. If anyone could point me to a supplier or if you might have a pair for sale, that would be great. Thanks, Skip
