I am about to put all trim back in.... is there a certain order? I am thinking the rear cargo trim then put in the quarter trim lapping over the cargo trim? not 100% sure though as it appears you could go either way with it I upgraded seat harness. It appears that the main bolt up top goes through the quarter trim. Is that normal?

I came across this YouTube video today. He cuts down 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" square steel to custom make frame rails. I imagine it'd make the chassis stiffer. It seems like overkill to me, but never thought of this and haven't seen it done before. Any potential drawbacks to doing this?

Once I heard someone say that one reason they favored PPG is that PPG has the formulas for the early Z colors. But the guy at my local PPG store begs to differ. He DID have one early blue in the system, but it was titled "1971-72 Blue" so that is not at all helpful since 71 and 72 have very different blues. Does anyone have the PPG Deltron formula, perhaps stuck to the side of a can of leftover 903 Universal Blue?

Got a new set of bumpers. Very nice. Holes for bumper guards are not there on either front or rear. Anyone have any measurements. Rather not just ballpark it

I am putting all new seals on car. The ones around rear hatch areas are giving me trouble. They dont wanna stay put. Any tricks of the trade? I am thinking i need a lot of clamps and do a little at a time, let it dry, then do a little more. I have the 3M weatherstrip adhesive. Just hate using it....it gets everywhere. Do ya'll put a dab into the weatherstrip channel or on along the hatch lip?

I just noticed a small “bugsplat” crack forming on my original dash. what can I do to prevent further damage to this dash? The rest of the dash is pristine.

Curious if these can be made to work on the early models ? I saw another sale ad that said they would . These were meant to deal with wind noise I imagine ? I’ve seen ads for the bottom front seals for the quarter window , but not the top . https://www.datsun-garage.com/collections/datsun-240z-260z-280z-s30-weatherstrip/products/reproduction-front-quarter-window-weatherstrip-1974-78-260z-280z

I bought some replacement rocker panels awhile back. They are the Tabco version. Does anyone have any opinion on how accurate they are? Are they better or worse than the same version made by KF Vintage? Thanks

I Have installed a few windows in British cars and this is my second opportunity with a 240Z. So, I don’t have a tremendous amount of experience, but I think this will provide a bit more detail that may help you. Outlined below is a procedure that worked well for me and I hope will help you. Please feel free to correct/improve the process for the next guy. Door Glass Install Install the outside rear view mirror. I installed insulation and sound deadener. I think this helps with noise and temperature control and it also gives the door a bit of added weight improving the feel of the door. I put white lithium grease on the r…

Slow progress continues on the resurrection Z. I have the LF fender removed, ready to install lower patch panel for the rusted out section. A few small pinholes on the top near the headlight bucket will also be handled with a home made patch. The assumed factory undercoat is in great shape on about 70-80% of the fender. The other 20-30% either had no undercoating or what was there has been scaling off the fender surface. Heat gun and scraper is doing a slow but decent job. Under the good undercoat is near perfect factory tannish color primer. I will be coating the fender with some good rust converter and follow up with a rust cover satin black after the converter c…
