So I cut out the rust in the floor pan and welded in new sheetmetal, but now what do I do with the inside area where the patch is? Also, if using por 15 in here, how do I clean it and "rinse with water" as per the instructions? I dont know how you rinse inside the car. I was thinking about using por 15 inside the fender, can this stuff be painted over small amounts of undercoating? Pictures attached. Thanks for the ideas@!!!

My 72 240z is being hauled away tomorrow for media blasting, refinishing, and paint. I'm creating a spreadsheet of parts to order, most of which I plan to purchase from Nissan. The best source I've found for identifying the part numbers is CarPartsManual.com, but I'm hoping there is a site with better drawings available. The detail on some of their drawings can be a bit sketchy. An example is trying to identify all of the parts for the door strikers on the body using their drawing. Any suggestions/recommendations? Dave

Does anyone have part numbers or a source for the rubber trim/bumpers for the exterior door handles? Mine are falling apart. Thanks, Dave

I purchased the end-mount rubber insulators from Banzai for the rear bumper on my '71, but I seemed to have misplaced the bolts that attach the ends of rear bumper to the sides of the body. Does anyone know the correct size & length of these bolts? Thanks

I had asked on the "datsun parts and needs" facebook page a week or so ago about mudguards for Z cars, and a picture surfaced but no one knows the source for mudguards like this: So does anyone have a set of them or knows where I can buy a set?

I have a fully prepped rebuilt L28 ($5200.00 in receipts) engine on an engine stand destined for my 240. The shop painted the entire engine, head, valve cover, pan, a dark Ford blue. I am wanting/planning to paint the block 110 red/orange/Persimmons to match the body color and the valve cover I have polished and trimmed out to match body color (different post here). I think having the head painted body color is too much, but am concerned about getting the blue paint off without staining the aluminum and not sure it is worth the effort to polish. I guess the question is, what are you guys doing with the cylinder head when dressing up the car? I am not building a show …

My car is currently being painted. The paint shop owner asked what I wanted to do with the backside of the fender--something I had never thought about. The image above is from another car--the back of my fender is mostly grey with some old undercoating. The shop suggested these three options: paint it orange (like the outside) POR over the old undercoating (there is no rust) Leave it alone Any thoughts?... I can't imagine this ever being seen unless you look under the car.

I'm going to convert my 76 to the fiberglass front air dam with bumper detail. The Z store has them for a good price of around $187. However, I live in Michigan and shipping it from California to here was quoted as $165, almost as much as the air dam itself. Does anyone know of another source for this style front air dam with less costly shipping? Thanks Gary

I am in the process of converting my 260 bumpers to the pulled in 72 style and have a few questions. What bracket or mount goes on the outer ends? Is there a filler that goes in between the grill and bumper? Thanks in advance. I don't have an early car to use as reference and couldn't find anything in the archives. Dean

Im back with more pictures of the progress on my 240z. I started replacing the floor pans and have one side completed. The pans came from Charlie at Zeddfindings. I also started work on the passenger door. I am replacing the outer door skin so I blasted the inner side of the door shell and treated it with POR 15. Finally, I removed both hood ledge support rails to replace with NOS that i bought from Courtesy Nissan.

I picked up used 3 piece ISMA spoiler. I have only two bolts for the center. I was thinking SS sheet metal screws for the ends and two by the lock. I have to fit it soon before paint. Drill holes and SS sheet metal screws is that the way to go. One like this
