It has been a while since we have posted anything under Oneway but finally getting back on our resurrection project. The pinion bearings are marked 6202 which is a standard bearing, 15x35x11, but the ones being removed measure 15x35x12. Not sure if such a bearing is still available or will we have to shim the bearings? The grease was a bit old in the rack and just want to do a complete cleaning and relube. Also that top seal may be an issue as well, but have not done any research on that one yet. The other dilemna seems to be the u joints in the steering shaft from what I have read. They move freely but the seals are beginning to crack and am sure the joints should …

All, I am looking to replace the steering rack bushings on my 1970 240Z and found the Resurrected Classics Link offering. They are advertised as rubber, fitting the 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z. Has anyone installed this set on their 240Z? If so, how is the fitment and durability? Thanks, Keith

I'm having an issue with the lower u-joint staying tight (steering column to rack). I really have to crank the bolt down that holds it to the rack. Once it's nice and tight, no steering slop. It's great for a few minutes but is coming loose after a few minutes of driving. It loosens enough that I have maybe 1/4" of play at the wheel. Crank it down again, and I’m fine for a few minutes. There's no split lock washer on it. What should I do here? Add a locking washer, put a jam nut on the other side, use some medium Loctite? Thanks!

Picked up a mint condition 240Z last year that was mostly stock. So far I've upgraded wheels, redoing the interior, and added BC Racing coilovers. I'm planning on doing further mods to suspension and replacing the brakes. I have a decent budget for both though nothing crazy since this is pretty much a weekend car and will never see anything more than occasional spirited canyon drives. My goal is to complete suspension and brakes by this summer and start on the engine (L28) sometime in the fall.

I'm in the process of installing new Koni Yellows, Eibach progressive springs (23-4041) from MSA, and the rubber suspension kit from Car Source on my 73 Z. Since the car will hopefully be about 1 ½" lower, I'm thinking I should add some bump stops, and don't want the hard poly ones (going for an old folks ride 😉). MSA only sells the hard ones. I've seen other threads of soft bump stop talk, but no specific part numbers used. I called about the FatCat ones, but they mostly offer Miata advice. Heard others use the Koni stops, but which one? Koni strut shaft is .856" (21.74 mm), so I'm thinking the Koni 70.34.95.00 one is the one used, right? It's over 2" long, should …

Without disassembling it or removing from the car? Hoping there might be a way to put a little oil or grease in there. My car sat for many years without being driven, and the lubricant may be a bit dried up. Thanks

Anybody have a front spindle laying around they don't need? I only need one side, and it doesn't matter which side or which year. I just need the part where the hub mounts. I'm thinking if someone was working on coil-overs and accidentally cut off the tube too short or something? Or if there was a car that was in an accident and the tube is bent? Or someone who couldn't get the gland nut off and the threads are totally ruined?

I'm in a weird situation. I ordered new rear struts for my 1973 240Z (which has been all original on everything I've touched so far) but noticed they don't fit exactly (diameter of the strut housing is larger and the strut nut that came with the new strut is too small). After comparing to a spare rear suspension I picked up, the struts fit on that one fine. I'm guessing that someone must have swapped in a 280Z rear suspension at some point (there's number on the outside, Nissan 55303 N4600 AMPCO Japan) and the spare one I have on hand is the actual one for a 240Z. I'm now debating, do I return the struts I just ordered and pickup some new 280Z struts that will f…

I have a 1976 280z that I am in the finishing stages of totally rebuilding from scratch. I have stock rear control arms but custom hub mounts and needed a way to set the toe and camber so I am using adjustable rear control arm bushings that allow for toe and camber adjustment. I understand how to adjust the bushings, but where I am struggling is a reference point to set the toe. It's my understanding that usually the front toe is set with reference to the rear. However, neither my front nor rear toe is set. Not sure the best way forward. I guess I could find the centerline of the car? The frame rails could be an option, however those have been replaced and mi…

Hi Guys, Basic question, what parts do you need for steering and suspension makeover. I am not looking for any performance or coil overs. Close to OEM specs are fine. This is what comes to mind: - Shocks - Springs (I can clean and keep the original) - Outer tie rods - Ball joints - End links - Bushings kit What else?
