I’ve noticed on my Z when I go over imperfections on the road and on some bumps there’s a tendency for the rear suspension to bounce. It’s a little annoying, I was wondering how much of this was contributed from using KYB struts on eibach lowering springs. is it that the KYB strut is not able to handle the rapid compression of the progressive springs in the rear of the car? Could it be something else? Sway bar too tight?

if I make slow near full lock left turn (coming out of a parking lot example) I get a pop sound that comes from the front of the car right hand side I think, and can feel a release in the steering wheel at the same moment. It seems to happen at the exact same spot on the steering wheel position. it happens every time, but you need to "reset" by turning back straight (you cant just hover over the spot and get the same effect by moving a few degrees back and forth. I tried turning the steering lock to lock with it not moving, no problem. I can turn the wheel fully while stopped and the pop will happen as soon as I start to roll with the wheel fully cranked to the left.…

Thanks to anyone in advance, This afternoon finally greased and reassembled steering rack on series 1 car. I am discovering that the pinion gear catches (like a clunk) right in the centered position where the steering would be centered. It does it again when the gear turns a full revolution in either direction. I was able to source the pinion seal but had hoped the rest of it was in decent shape. How wrong I was. I have been reading older posts that give parts sources but most were 3 or 4 years ago. Can anyone direct me to a source that would have the pinion gear and bearing? I'm hoping to not have to replace the entire unit but I suppose the rack could be bad too. Than…

I am trying to find the bolt that connects the ball joint, strut and control arm for the 240z. I lost mine in a move, and can't find. Any help is appreciated. Curtis

Hey all, I've been searching for new rear coils for the Z. Really sags back there and front looks like a "gasser" in comparison. Seems aftermarket only offers all 4. I've read about Chevette springs but unsure about going that route. Anyone know of a good source to get stock height rear coils?

MSA Sway Bar Kit, 70-73 240Z, Front 1", Rear 7/8" Anyone ordered and implemented this on a 240z? I'm about to replace the suspension with KYB shocks + Eibach springs, and figured I'd order these, too. But, they are on back order for a while. Was it worth the investment? The suspension is completely shot right now. And it does roll, but not sure how much that'll be helped by the new springs/shocks.

What goes here? Some sort of vent or something? Resembles the same plastic off the Rear end and Transmission vents.

Hey mates Since the temps are over 100 here in the desert I figured this weekend would be the perfect time to replace the u joints on the half shafts (axle shafts). I spent most today getting the U joints out of the axle shafts. Before putting the new ones on I ran into the dreaded "while I'm here" moments and inspected the boots. While they aren't in the worse shape both seem to have small tears in them. Replacing these requires disassembly of the axles, which I went ahead and did. Does anyone have an recommendations on what type of grease to use on the inside of the axle shafts? The FSM doesn't really define it in a meaningful way other than multipurpose. Would plain…

So, doing my struts on my series 1 car, and figured I would replace the lower control arm bushings, ball joints, etc....... Everything seem to be going well until I tried to take off the passenger side control arm bolt. The nut came right off, but the bolt is seized to the inner part of the bushing. I have pounded on it with the nut on it, soaked it, air impact wrench forward and backward, for the past couple of days. Thinking I might need to get the sawmill out..... Any other suggestions? I have replacement bolts, not sure I want to use a torch on it. I can move the control arm up and down, and the head of the bolt moves with the control arm. An…

Has anyone tried the 2" lowering springs from Z Car Depot? Haven't been able to find any reviews for this product, but was considering the product for the additional 1" drop for my 280z since I will be taking the bumpers off later this year. https://zcardepot.com/products/coil-spring-set-stock-and-lowered-240z-260z-280z?variant=21397321449585¤cy=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google+shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwqJ_1BRBZEiwAv73uwHJmvt2Fqij6TJ1LuWyun2gwVYBJrjdV7AgPyqEAad1in6ueJQ8-YxoCiPMQAvD_BwE

Hi Guys! Have been looking for a way to give back to this amazing community and was doing research on replacement spring/strut options. Figured I would share out my research since this landscape has changed over the years. This will cover currently available drop-in struts and springs. If you are looking for Coilover Kits, see @AlbatrossCafe's fantastic post here. Please feel free to post options that I have missed or additional data points you want to see. Disclaimer: I will be updating this over the next couple days, so there will be some "To Be Determined (TBD)" placeholders until I can fill it in. Strut Options Brand Model…
