My '72 reversing switch has been damaged someway and I'd like to get a new one. Someone knows where I could get one cause I asked my usual used parts dealer and they don't have any. Of course north of the border would be interesting but it doesn't have to.

Not only am I having brake issues.....I have a clutch issue........ Ok, I said before the car sat for 5 years......it is a 70/240 I replaced the master and slave, bled it out 10 times and have 5% clutch. The tranny is a 5 speed (stamped 7X22625) the slave that was on it when I bought it was 70 adjustable so I replaced it and the master with OEM replacement. The car will not go into reverse while running and the forward gears are tough as well. The original owner had the conversion done at the Nissan dealership in Palm beach, FL......Not sure which direction to go from here.......any help would be a big help Thanks Capt Mark Mark

I have seen this done on a few control arms including my own which I bought like that. Why is the end loop cut like this? What does it offer?

I'm soooo tired of searching all of the Z sites without hard fast results. It seems that most questions get sidetracked with opinions or preferences and ultimately the original question never gets a viable answer. Okay, enuff of my ranting... I have a 71 240Z with a 4.10 limited slip R180. I've climbed under the car and looked as well as rotating tires and counting driveshaft rotations. It is in excellent condition and I have no interest in swapping it out for a R200. One of my outer U-joints is failing and I would like to convert to a CV setup, if possible. I cannot find a viable step-by-step procedure to do this if one even exist. If not, the other option will hopefully…

I was looking at the swaybar links that came with my Energy Suspensions Urethane kit, and noticed that the distance between the washers is greater than the factory pieces. This looks like it would effectively pre-load the swaybar. Any thoughts? I cleaned up a set of factory links, so I could use them instead of those supplied with the kit. I am at a quandry over which would be better to use, authentic pieces or third party. Will

Just wondering how this combo would go? I know ideally I would need to use strut inserts to compensate for the springs, but for the moment they are just out of my budget. What I am mainly concerned about is the car bouncing with the stiffer springs.....is this likely? Ray

I just checked my '71 240Z speedometer against my GPS. It seems to be almost exactly 10% off (reads 60 acutaully doing 66.3). It has been changed to a 5 speed and I don't know about rear end changes or how much change there is in existing tire diameter and original. I can live with it but is there an easy fix? John

I noticed a description for "European springs" in the MSA catalogue and was wondering if anyone has tried these and how they worked out. It says they only "slightly lower" the car: enough to need modifications to get camber back to stock value? Ride? Any info or speculation would be appreciated. Thanks, Victor.

All right, that's a bit of a joke on my part. Actually I just wanted to talk about my 5 Speed Disc swap on my gear shift knob. Alan T. (HS30-H) in Merry Ol' England was kind enough to send me the disc off an old original 5 speed knob he had. (At no charge yet). Thanks again. So, I took my old original 240Z 4 speed knob with the broken disc, sanded the wood down to clean it up and reveal some grain and hit it with some clear varnish and will attach the new-to-me 5 speed disc. I used satin spray at first, but changed to a shiney varnish and liked it better. Any ideas in how to keep the knob from spinning, going to have to glue down the bushing (whatever the plastic thr…

In getting the car ready to go back together-not that I am close to that point, I have come upon yet another quandry. What do you do to ready the trany-not rebuilding, but ceaning and coating. If Aluminum is cleaned with Marine Clean, it looks great for a week or so, and then starts to develop oxidation because there is nothing coating the surface to protect it. What are you guys doing-if anything? Oiling, waxing, clear coat, plating, dare I say it, buffing it out? Will

My 71 Z has the original springs and struts. It rides like it too. Add the severe lack of cushion in the seats and it makes for a rough ride. I plan on replacing the foam insets with those found on Ebay (Datsun Restore or Intense). Before we go any further, has anyone used these inserts? Was the difference worth the money? Okay, back to the suspension. I don't race on the track or the street. I don't need OR want a bone jarring ride and slot car handling. I do want to lower the car though. I'm leaning towards the Eibach Pro-kit for the progessive springs. I'd thought about coil-overs but Don at Ground Control said he would recommend the lowering springs they offer(?). No …

I have been reading some posts about the difference between older and newer Z diff and tranny positions. I understand that my early (2-71) Z has the diff mounted a bit shorter (2 cm) than the later Z's. No one at the shop has talked about changing the driveshaft or the center console mods. I have a 83 Maxima long O/D 5-speed and a R-200 L/S with the stock '71 drive shaft all ready to install. Will I have problems getting this combo to work in a '71 Z?
