I took my Series ! '70 240Z, pretty much unmodified to Pep Boys yesterday for a wheel alignment (all four tires look like they're squatting), though I don't have any problems with the steering wheel pulling in either direction. Well, after waiting two hours only to have the guys there tell me they mangled my car's air dam and one of the headlight buckets (I've got an urethane air dam on order which these numbnuts are now going to install for me GRATIS, and I found a set of headlight buckets from a guy in CA, again, to be installed GRATIS), they also tell me that they cannot do the alignment since they haven't 'the conversion figures' for this car. I can't find any info in…

Does anyone out there know the spring rates for Tokico Springs and Suspension Techniques Springs. I figure since I'm getting shocks from OS, I may as well look into springs as well. I read last night that the ST springs are around the 200lb/in mark, but I want to confirm this. No idea about the Tokico springs though. I have decided on Tokico HP shocks, so they should suit either of these quite well yes. If I keep pestering everyone with suspension questions long enough, I might get what I am after. Thanks Scott

Good evening everyone, I was just wondering if I should replace the steering rack bushings with the weight of the car on the wheels or if I should jack the front up and do the work with the weight off the suspension. Any thoughts appreciated! Justin 73 240Z

but, I dont know with what. Im not looking to spend $500 on a bad-@ss race clutch, but I do want upgraded grab over the stock old-technology unit. I autoX the Z about 3-4 times a year. My 260 has slightly upgraded torque and hp, but nothing to go braggin home to your girlfriend about. So, any brand suggestions? I was looking at the CluthMaster FX100, the Centerforce I, II, and dual clutch. Suggestions? Thanks! -Patrick Davies BTW the Dual Clutch requires a 280Z clutch collar, what the heck is a clutch collar??

i have some Z32 rear caliper, rotor, and drum ebrake. i want to fit them onto my z. i need R31 hubs to do this, but i live in the USA...SO do Z31 and R31 hubs interchange? what about S12? some AU guy HAS to know this i looked on a couple R31 forums and they use Z31 5 stud hubs in the rear so i'm guessing the 4 stud hubs would be the same too? http://www5a.biglobe.ne.jp/~satotats/zhp/z17p/index.htm thats the thing that got me thinking!

Had everything done about 500 miles ago. Replaced EVERYTHING: Master, calipers, rear cylinders, rotors, pads, shoes, drums, all the fluid.....everything. The brakes work great, but squeal very loudly when under very light pressure. Like when just idling through a parking lot or in line at a stoplight--just going very slow with light, constant pressure on the pedal. It's really embarassing! Everybody looks at me like I'm from Pigswallow. It doesn't happen when I'm really USING the brakes. steve77

My steering is a little vague (1977 coupe )so Im going to start at the coupler and go from there. Do I just un-bolt the coupler itselfe or do any other componets have to come off such as the u joint or lower rod? It's not really covered well in the manual I have. Thanks.

Ok, this is the last dumb question I ask ( I hope). Every article I've read on the R200 swap into a 71 Z say's to get the r200 HALF SHAFTS also.Motorsport Auto tells me that the R180 halfshafts will work fine. Has anybody used the R180 halfshafts on the r200 swap? Will it work?

To start off, i'm swapping a 5spd with a 4spd in my 74 260z. The 5spd is in my 73 240z ( started off as project car but found good deal on 260z...minimal rust) and planning on taking that out and puttin in 260z ( which leads to another question later). I know how to do the removal/installation of tranny, thats np, but I was just wondering if you guys have or know of a easier ways of swapping tranmissions without removing the engine. All I have is 4 jackstands to put the car up on. So mainly I'm just looking the best ways to unbolting the tranny while its in the car. Like what put under it? a jack to hold itup (tranny)? but how do i keep it from tipping over ect. Another …

After a bit of a web search and ring around it appears these are the few that still make them for the old Z. So I am asking for opinions from those of you that have used these springs. I know a few of you have King Springs, and the cost is about $165 per pair, but have no info on the Lovells, ride wise or price wise, or the Eibach's. Pictures would help also, so I know how much lower the car would sit. Also info on what shocks you used as well. From what I cangather, the local options for them are Gabriel, Munroe and Pedders, without going into the extreme price range of Koni's Oh yeah, and I'm talking about a 73 240Z. Thanks Scott

In the pics I've attached the one labelled 4spd is a B box on loan from fellow club member Victor Laury (thanks Victor), the tranny labelled 5spd is a gift from another club member (thanks sennavsprost) before he moved up to San Francisco. The thing about the 5spd I was given is that he thought it to be a T5 based on the "T5" stamp inside the bellhousing which I've enlarged for you all to see. What's weird though is that I had another club member send me photocopies of the tranny tear-down pages for an '81-'82 T5 FS5R90A and the illustrations don't match at all what I'm looking at it. I compared what I have here with the illustrations of the optional 5spd FS5C71A in bot…
