Hello, I was going through the R200 I just picked up at the local pick n pull. I was supprised to see the damage to the casing caused by the cross pin. This rear end had 150K miles on it and came from a '80 280ZX, 3.90. Is this normal wear or is there a problem? Thanks for your help. Skip

looking down at my car my tires are as follows: | | | \ (granted not to this degree of toe) Now, I know I have a blown shock on that tire. So here are my line of questions... 1) Is this caused by the rear shock being blown? 2) Did the PO hit something and bend something and blow the shock? I'm new to z's and after taking a look in the back I noticed their is really nothing adjustable to correct the toe with. Will the new shock fix it or do I need to buy a certain unatainable piece? I'm most likey gonna get an allignment at a shop and was wondering if they were gonna charge me up the arse to get this fixed or if it just takes some altercations and adjustments to …

It’s finally warm enough to get some work done, but I could use some guidance first. •First, when switching from a points type distributor I was wondering what the better option is, trigger type (petronics) or late mode swap. If a swap to later model unit is the way to go, does anyone have one they would like to part with? •Second, aside from the assorted bushings and tools, what other parts should I have on hand when changing springs and struts? •Third, anyone know of a good bushing source other than MSA or VBL? Thanks for the input, Dan

I was replacing the clutch slave cylinder on my 1971 240Z, and I threw out the old one. When I got the new one, I found out that it didn't include the rod that goes between it and the clutch fork! I called around to some places and went to some junk yards, but I just can't find one any where! Does anyone know where I can find this rod? I don't care if it is new or used. I just need it! Thanks!

Occasionally the clutch on the 4 speed in my 260Z acts as if it's going out. 1st & 2nd become very difficult to engage, requiring some pretty serious force to shift but with no grinding. 3rd requires equal force, AND will grind, but 4th is pretty smooth. This is only an occasional problem that seems more prevalent when the car is warm. It goes away just as suddenly as it starts; I can have a heck of a time shifting through the gears, then the next shift becomes smooth again & everything is fine. I bled the system because the fluid was filthy. It's starting to cloud up again with black particles (master cylinder innards perhaps?) Any ideas? I'm puzzled because…

I have been searching through the archives for information on how to install adjustable coil-overs on a 240z, as im interested in installing 17X8 and 17X9 wheels in the future. I have read that the strut inserts (?) have to be shortened. From my previous experience with suspension installations the "strut inserts" were always just referred to as "shocks". I am kind of unclear on the descriptions of "strut cartridge," "strut housing," and "strut insert". and since im not clear on what exactly these parts are im also unclear on what part is actually cut up to be shortened. Could someone on here with more knowledge enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

Looking to upgrade my 76's 280z suspension, Ive found a good deal on illumina's but now I need some springs. All I've really found are springs that make the car visually appealing and arent really stiffer from stock. I was wondering if anyone knew of some good springs for an autox/timed lap day non daily driven car. Thanks.

Swapping out my shocks and when I go to unscrew the top strut housing perch I broke off the octagonal piece. So now I have nothing to wrench on and it is threaded inside of the strut housing. Plan 1 for tommorrow is to jb weld the piece back on, plan 2 is to try and drill the piece back on and try and wrench on the piece. If anyone has any bright ideas, please chime in.
