Found this page the other day. There is a lot of interesting stuff on here--even thought it is a neck-car site. http://www.stockcarproducts.com/techindx.htm steve77

Clutch Bleed

When looking into bleeding my clutch due to a leak, I had a question. When I am looking at the clutch master (where the resevoir is to fill the clutch fluid next to the windshield washer fluid) I was reading that therer should be two screws on the underside of the body., one having the rubber piece on it and being able to drain. When I was feeling around I only felt one potential screw and nothing else. Also it had no rubber on it. Am I looking in the wrong place? Should I be at some other area to drain the fluid? SuDZ

Hey I have my tranny on the floor after I just put on a new dual friction clutch. I was wondering since I have the tranny out is there anything I should do as far as maintenace on it. Also this is going to sound dumb but where the hell does the tranny fluid go? Back after a nice long summer in the Z......... Frankenstein Z

I just put in an LSD Rear End from a 1988 300ZX turbo into my 240Z. (supposedly rebuilt) It seems fine, there isn't any play, but it is louder than my last R200. It has a whining sound to it. any thoughts?? My Ujoints are in good condition. It seems to get quieter as it warms up.

Any ideas on why I suddenly started experiencing alot of resistance when shifting into reverse? When I push the stick across through neutral toward reverse, it moves slowly and smoothly only with a lot of force. Then shifting back to reverse is normal. I haven't taken the console off yet. Thanks, Victor.

I want to convert to a five speed but dont know which one i should go with. Im planning on going with the l28et and hopfully running 300hp at the wheels. would the nissan 5 speed be good enough or should i give it the extra effort to go with the t-5?

Linkage rod?

Alright, I have a problem. Today I went to put my car into the garage because it looked like rain. So I hoped in and started it up. I tried to put it into reverse and it just grinded at me. Hmmm. So then I said "Let me try 1st" still no good, it just won't go into gear. No other gear works for that matter either. So I wound up shutting it off and then it would go into gear just fine. So I left it in reverse and turned it on. It took off on me even though the clutch was all the way in. My father had said he thought it could be a linkage rod but I did not see anything about it in my Haynes book. Any ideas as far as if this is the problem or if it is something else…

I was wondering what the advantages of keeping the stock 280z 4 speed manual, over the 5 speed are, if any. Basically it's just to convince myself into keeping the 4 speed (and saving my money), but I want you to give me your honest opinion. Thanks as always. Joey Penniman
