I'm looking at adding new struts to my auto-x car this winter ($$$ permitting) and am looking at getting the illuminas rather then revalving my current units or getting the Konis ($$$). I have the suspention techniques springs and swaybars. Is anyone running this setup with the tokicos? Any recomendations? I belive the ST springs lower the car 1" and the tokico spings 2" but I may be mistaken. thanks BW

Thanks for the replies on my towing questions about the 1972 240-Z. I'm gonna tow it from Manassas, VA to Charlotte, NC this weekend. I figure there's a flange on the drive-shaft at the rear end. What's up front at the trans.? Slip yoke, u-joint or what? I just want to pack the right tools and not the whole shop when I go to pick this car up. Weeeeee!!!!!!! NewToy!!!!!! ROFL ROFL Thanks, Chris

Just bought a 1972 240-Z and I have to go pick it up. It's running strong, motor and trans are good, has a busted control arm mount on passenger side. Clutch needs replacement. I want to tow this car on a two-wheel dolly for about 425 miles. Should I worry about pulling the prop shaft or just let it spin in neutral?:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: I've always pulled the drive-shaft on an automatic when towing, but I'm not sure if I'll damage a standard trans. by leaving it in neutral. I'm still new to this site (and Z ownership) but I thought I'd send out an FYI. Just let me know if this type of post is inappropriate. Based on the great info I received from the site, I just ordered suspension for my soon to be autocrosss 240z. These guys were extremely helpful and very nice. Definately worth checking out if you are looking for parts. Heres what they charged: Tokico Illumina Suspension Kit w/ Springs $540 Energy Susp HyperFlex Kit $146 Suspension Tech Rear Sway Bar $131 Shipping all the way across country $19!! The guy I spoke with is Tom and was a great help. Their # is (800) 478-0952 and website is: http://www.lightningmotorsports.com/index1.htm

1978 280Z, 3spd Auto. Is there a way to know IF you can grease your drive shaft & axle sahafts? I think I read somewhere that there were ones you could and couldn't grease. Thx.

I put a '78 5 speed in my 240Z. The shifter shifts nicely into all of the gears...... But once it is in gear it has alot of play(flops around). What is in the top of the trans that would be worn / or broke? Is it some type of bushing or ball & socket? Maybe nylon? - Jeff

Hi everyone. I was just wondering if the 82'-83' 2+2 280zxt (MT) came with the BW T-5 or was it just the coupe version? Thanks, Eric

I am in the process of building an autocross 73 240z. Has anyone out there installed the hyperflex bushing kit? Can this installation be done in a garage with normal tools or are special tools required? Is it even worth upgrading to the hyperflex system or are stock bushings sufficient? Thanks a million for the feedback people, I really appreciate it!

I have a T-5 trans in my '72 240 Z and the darn thing with the shift knob on looks like something out of a "Rat Fink" cartoon. My idea was to take my Dremel and cut it short so it's not so tall. Is there a company that makes short shifters for the T-5 so I don't have to go through as much trouble? Brian
