So.....normally, you jack up the rear end and when you rotate a tire one way, the other tire rotates the opposite way, except LSD's which rotate together blah, blah, blah.............What does it mean if the other tire DOESN'T rotate? Is the rear end horribly worn? I tried both sides, and the input shaft rotates along with each side, and the opposite end nudges a bit in the opposite direction, but doesn't rotate at all. Yes, the brakes were off...completely off: disks, calipers, everything. Nothing but raw shafts. steve77

So here's a possibly stupid question the answer to which has escaped me in all my reading on coil-ever conversions (cut/weld housing to relocate perch). How do you know what size cartridge to order? And where do you go to order it? Do manufacturers have a 'private' page page where they disclose the actual dimensions of the cartridges (without a make and model obviously)? steve77

I have a rear sway bar from a 78 280Z 2+2 That I want to put on my 1972 240Z, however I do not have the factory mounting brackets that seem to be found on some 72-73 240s... I have a 73 Parts car that has the brackets on it, is there a way to cut those off, and weld them on my 72? Or is there an aftermarket bracket kit that is available? thanks. dave.

i can get some Suspension techniques springs for my 240, with 1.5 coils removed. What are the advantages and disadvantages of cutting ST springs? Will I be too low and will I need to mess with steering? Will I be too stiff? Good idea or bad idea to use with stock struts? thanks for the help.

This last Saturday, I replaced my clutch and I installed a 5 speed. I'll share with you all the problems I encountered for your future avoidance. A couple of months ago, I began to suspect that my clutch was slipping. I could not spin the tires. I tried adjusting the clutch a couple of times, with no improvement. Since I had no knowledge of what quality of clutch was installed by the previous owner, I assumed the PO would select the cheapest thing available. I began to prepare for my clutch job by gathering the parts. I took a spare flywheel to Top End Performance in the San Fernando Valley and they machined away several pounds off the stock unit. I ended up purchasing a …

Thinking about purchasing new springs. I notice a lot of the performance springs lower the vehicle. How will this affect suspension geometry? Wheels/tires? Steering geometry?

I started making a list of suspension pieces I need and need some help with sway bar size. I never drove my car before I started tearing it apart so I have no base line. I plan on doing some weekend racing with the car and this is by no means a daily driver. (75% street, 25% track) I want the ride fairly stiff and handling on the loose side. What's the best swaybar sizes for this set up? I'm also putting on strut bars on the front and rear if that makes any difference.

When exactly did rear sway bars begin being installed on 240's? I had thought they started with 260 (74 in USA). These two '72's I have here have me confused. One has nothing in the rear. The other has a rear-oriented sway bar installed AND as I was lurking around underneath noticed the brackets for a front-oriented bar are installed. Just the brackets (you know, the two pieces of metal welded to the frame, one with a slot for the retainer and the other threaded). So here's my questions: A. Why would these (front-oriented) brackets be installed (they look EXACTLY like the ones on a 280)? B. I am assuming both a front-oriented and rear-oriented sway bar would use t…
