Yet another ques about my new car! I've got a competition ceramic, spring centred clutch fitted (the previous brass button solid type was supposedly a bit too harsh). I was told that the clutch will slip if released slowly, but if 'popped' out quickly it will hold, and this is a feature of the clutch. Has anyone heard of this? I guess I'll just have to get used to driving it this way! Cheers all

does any one know if any nissans/datsuns came with r-180's that have 3.9 gears. i know the european 240z's came with a 3.9 r-180, but i dont think i'll find any of those at the local pick n' pull. are there any 510's or 210's or anything that came with that rear end. my 240z isnt running high hp or any thing, so i dont really want to weigh my car down with an r200. i'm lazy too, so i dont feel like swapping all the cross member doohickeys and fandanglers and what not. any help appreciated. dont get bamboozled.

Is $100 (including shipping) for an R200 3.9 a good price? How hard are they to install in a 240Z and what else will I need to do so? OH! Also, is there a way to tell what the ratio is without opening the unit?

what are the letter number stamped on a 79 to 85 toyota four wheel drive pick-up front brake caliper that will fit the 72 240z front brake? i saw one of the post here that say "S12", is it the only stamped letter number that will work on a 72 240z? or does it matter what the stamped is as long as it is for 79 to 85 toyota four wheel drive pick-up? thanks,

Ok here's the story. About 3 months ago my 240's tranny decided to take a dump in a Kragens parking lot and I ended up getting it towed home. The tow truck driver couldn't figure out a place to put the two tow hooks on the back so he wrapped a strap around each rear control arm which seemed to do the trick. Now I've been tearing out the suspension to put in urethane bushings and it looks like that little towing incident bent the rear control arms. Not in a structuraly bad way (I don't think), but it bent the metal flanges a little. So after I spend all the time repainting my suspension I don't want to have anything like this to happen again should I get towed at some p…

What kind of speed, one can expect with all the gear box around? Is there a spread sheet of all the mix Box/diff ? I plan on running the shortest gearing with a 2.8 and a 5 speed euro/box ? I don't need to go over 200 km/h but I am looking for hill-climb power !

I've got a 260Z 2+2 with original rubber bushings & stock shocks. The shocks are still in reasonable shape - you don't get any bounce if you push down on the fenders. I use the car as a nice (very nice) daily driver. I know it all needs replaced - but was curious. When I go around a corner & there's a rough spot on the road, the rear end slips out- bouncing on the rough spots. Even when I'm going straight, if I hit some washboard road, the rear slips a bit sideways. What's the main cause of that? Any ideas? Thanks!

The 5 way adjustable shocks on the ground control suspension site are about 220 more expensive than the non-adjustable ones. Is there really 220 dollars worth in haveing these adjustments. I would imagine that the non adjust would handle just as well as one of the adjustments, jut not able to get soft for dragracing, or harder or whatever. What do you guys think? PS:New avatar, ain't she somethin...

I have been told by many I need new shocks and struts, and also thin the same. I would like to replace the pieces with high performance springs and struts, maybe swaybars (the shock is inside the strut, right?) Okay, I think it is mainly the front suspension that is out but most of the rubber parts are worn out all around. I would like the most serious streetracing springs and struts I can get for the least amount of money (dont we all). I just wanted to know what type of set ups you guys think are the best or have experience with, and also where to get them!!! Thanks
